Rain, Surprise Birthdays, Rain, First Visits -(Ginny is deceased-Prayers for her.)

You got it. Christine is taking tomorrow off so I will be alone with Him. Service will go on at noon tho. And he has a meeting at 2 so it won't be too bad.
That's good! Nice to have that phone service. Give you time to do something on your desk or Dis, whichever you feel like. My phone never stops ringing and I'll be locking my door in the afternoons and it will be resounding out. Sorry, nobody's home, I say!

Friday is always the busiest day for me, so I go home needing the weekend to recoop.

Not feeling so hot today, for real. And here I was thinking about calling in sick on Monday when I wasn't sick and now I'm getting sick! I guess I made the correct call, huh?

Yes you did. That is exactly why I am cautious about that kind of thing to. I always figure some day I'll need it and won't have it. I've not missed any days this year but I will miss 2 in Nov. when I have to do another thryoid scan thingy. We only get 6 days a year. Needless to say I used the all up and part of vacay last year.

Good morning Ginny,

Sounds like you may have a fairly easy day today. Here's hoping somebody or something doesn't come in and screw it all up!

It's cloudy here and by this afternoon it's supposed to be storming. I am sick and tired of rain. Don't forget to take the pictures of the area that floods if somebody decides to do something silly.:thumbsup2

Have a good one,

Lisa

I'm tired of rain, too. It's supposed to be raining all weekend. Good thing I like to clean house when it rains b/c my house should be spotless this weekend!

Yes, I'd love to see what comes of the flooded area this time, myself!!!

Good morning ladies. It is still raining. We've had over 5 and 1/2 inches and growing. The flooded area was flooded this morning and I couldn't stop to take the pic cause 'it was raining'. I will stop on the way home so you can see what it looks like. Who knows if anyone will do anything this time. It is 50 degrees here. It was supposed to have stopped by 10. Once again they were wrong.

Mel, I was to clean my house last weekend and didn't. If I don't do it this time it is going to blow up in a cloud of dust.

Don is still working four hour days for another week. He comes home exhausted so I don't ask much of him. Darn.

Tomorrow afternoon Sheri and I are going to see Mama Mia. I'm so excited.

I just posted tons of pics on Marissa thread and it wouldn't take any of them. Now I have to redo. grr.

Have great days everyone.

Good afternoon! It's almost time to get out of this place (well, an hour and twenty minutes to go), so I'm slacking off even more.

Have fun at the show tomorrow Ginny!

Hope everyone else has a great weekend too.

I got off at 1:30 today. We are leaving at 4 for the football game. Always fun. Very cold here today. Taking blankets, coats, hats, gloves and everything else we can find warm. Austin loves to play when it's cold tho. He sweats up a storm. You have a great weekend also Allan.

I'm glad to hear from you. I've been wondering how you have been. Austin is narrowed down to 5 colleges. MU in Columbia, William Jewell in Kansas City, Univ of Mo in Kansas City, Drury in Springfield and SBU in Bolivar, Mo. He has apps in at all of them and has had 3 meetings with SBU. The advantage of them is they have a 5 year Masters in Business degree and they are 20 minutes from home so he could commute. We will just have to see how it all turns out.

What colleges are you looking into? I ask Aust to check in to Univ of Fl at Gainesville so I could be closer to Disney. He hasn't listened to me yet.

How exciting! about Austin and getting to visit all those colleges; does he have one he is leaning toward? I remember when Gwendolyn was doing all of that!! Dayne don't know what the child is planning to do...he just lives in the present! he does not worry about what has happened and he worries even less about what is going to be...:confused3

Hope you and Sherri have a great time at the musical--I know you will!!! how fun!!!

here's to drying out soon :sunny:

as you know ive been looking for schools with architecture. and well i went to college night a week or two ago. and then this school ITT Technical Institute and they ushered me over to the table and said they had Architecture and im like oh ok ill you know request info on it. so i did and they called me like two days later and we scheduled a appointment for October 5. well so we are driving and driving and we couldnt find it we MAPQUEST it and that never works out lol i blame mom.. but then we asked two people and they told us different directions so we finally gave up mind you we are now 40mins late. and as we are driving home guess what we see????? ITT its a small sign on a office building. that should of been my first instinct that it wasnt the place for me. but we go in and check it out. he said the classes were from like 6pm-11pm i was like dang!!! then they technically dont have an architecture program and that i would be able to work in an architect office. im like thinking uh no i dont want to be the pee on... i want to be the BOSS!!!! LOL!! so that school was for more of older people who is going back to school..

looks like Austin is farther then i am in college search. has he started with applying for scholarships???? if not he should go to fastweb.com or scholarship.com thats what ive been using.

Good luck1 Amanda sounds like you are on a great path!!! ITT tech is really more for as you said older folks looking to enhance their career or for people like my 17 yr son, Dayne, who does not think he is interested in a four year program.

Good luck and happy searching!

He is leaning to SBU (Southwest Baptist University) only because they have such a good masters program. MU (Columbia) does not have a business masters program. Drury and William Jewell do also but being private schools they are not cheap. At least SBU is only 20 miles away. Univ of Mo in Kansas City has a good Masters program but it is a 3 hour drive and he will have to live on campus. He sorta wants to go in the international Masters program. There are so many choices.

Mama Mia was great. After the play we went to Macaroni Grill for dinner then shopping to Dillards. Didn't buy one thing. We stopped at Andy's on the way home and got pumpkin pie concretes for everyone. they are to die for.

He is very lucky. He has a counselor that really likes him and she has several aps in for him. She has sent his transcripts to probably 10 colleges right now and told him she would see that all scholarships that were available she would get his aps in.

We know that Andrew will probably do a tech school when his time comes. Unless he grows up a lot between now and 2 years. I know he has no desire to leave home.

I hope they do for you. Did you have a decent ACT score. You need a 24 and then the next break is 27. then of course anything of 30. Austin is going to retake his in Feb and do the written too. He's had a 24 and a 27 but he would really like it to be higher. He is very good in English and like his grandma he is very wordy. His teachers say he could talk his way out of a paper bag. Sometimes that is a good thing. He got published in the 8th grade in some book that honors young writers.

Good luck Amanda. I hope everything works well for you. Keep us posted.

Ginny
