Please listen to this voice of experience:
We visited WDW in late May/early June. Of the 10 park days we had, it rained a lot on 6 of them. On two of the days it rained all day.
We had all kinds of rain gear. The $1 ponchos are like wearing dry cleaner bags. They may work if you don't want to get wet on Splash Mountain, but are otherwise unpleasant.
We each had a heavier weight poncho from
Walmart. If I had it to do over again, we would have each had a light weight rain coat, or a wind breaker and a ball cap.
I hated wearing the hood. It is hard to see, looks dorky and falls of if there is any wind. A ball cap works better.
It is very easy for a poncho to turn inside out when you (or esp. a kid) take it off. Then the next time, the wet part ends up next to your skin.
Bring more than one pair of shoes. We got caught in a soaking rain waiting for Fantasmic that left our shoes wet for days.
If you all end up soaked, remember the dryer in the hotel laundry room. Better to spend a few bucks with the dryer than to be hanging dripping clothes around the room for days.
When it rains, you get cold, even if it was a hot day. Your skin is wet, then you go into the AC of a ride, store or restaurant and freeze. So sometimes it is better to bring more clothes than just shorts.
Of the parks, MK is best on a rainy day. There are so many inside attractions and they are so close together. AK is miserable becuase almost everything is outside.
Good luck and may you have lovely weather!
