Rain Forest Cafe $10/25 Safari Club + discount on membership through 5/31

Aww, thanx...too bad I won't be going until June, after it expires...but I could just drive right over to the Rainforest near me! hmmm! :cool1:

I've heard about the Rainforest Cafe at DL , can someone tell me is it a "must do" ? Do kids enjoy it ?

We are from Australia and dont have it down here

The one here in Florida is a "must do" IMHO. The atmosphere is awesome and so is the food. I can't say the same for the one in DL since I have never been but I would hope it is as good, since I have already made plans to definitely eat there when I make my first trip in June!
:goodvibes
:cheer2:

I like the one at DL, fun atmosphere and the upstairs is nicely laid out with plenty of space. You feel like you are in an exotic locale, misty jungle of vines and "animals" on display for you to enjoy. There is a "rain storm" on a set schedule.. lighting changes, rain falls in center of upper level, the "animals" come to life moving and making noise. Then as suddenly as it began; the light brightens, the rain stops and the "animals" are still.

A tiny bit scary for the young preschooler, but you can ask your hostess to seat you in a quieter spot if you are worried (downstairs or near the upstairs aquarium).

Food wise.. it's okay. Ginormous portions and a tad pricey for not quite excellent quality of product. The appetizers are good, breakfast is decently priced and yummy (seating downstairs only). Kid's meals are good.

My local RF cafe is at Mall Of America As much as people line up and wait to get in.. it's not worth it there because it is SOOOOOO crowded. Just getting to your table is a hassle. It's not nearly as nice for the theming, I feel like I am eating at a mall.. meh.:snooty:

So I was stoked to see the coupon, but now I am exploring the menu and suddenly remembered how expensive it was to eat there. There is two adults and a toddler in our party, does anyone have any suggestions or trick on what to order. Or I may have to pass on the coupon... even though I posted. :rotfl:

I would suggest splitting something. Or maybe splitting something and getting an appetizer. I always order the Pastalaya and it's huge! For my two daughters, we ordered the kids pizza.

Do you have to be a member to use the coupon?

The last time there was a coupon like this (March of this year for a free Volcano dessert), we were able to use it and we are NOT members. The server didn't bat an eye.

You don't usually have to be members, in face on the email I got I'm sure it says to forward it to all your friends/family so they can use it too. We always go to RFC in DTD, unless we are there like we will be there this weekend, if we are there only for Sat/Sun we don't do it, instead we just eat in the parks. Our family really enjoys RFC, the food, the theming, sometimes the service isn't that great but that happens everywhere. I am a Safari Club member so DBF and I will get an appetizer and then share a Maya's Combo. The appy is free, the combo is HUGE and more than enough for the both of us, I get the chicken, DBF gets the coconut shrimp and we share the ribs. YUM!!!! It's very very good. Oh and many times we will just get water as our drinks and save like $5 that way!

You can only join the club in person, correct?

Bummer, we are just missing being able to use it, like we are just missing Corn Dog Castle. *sigh*

I think that yes you do have to be there to join. But, call one and see what they say, you might get lucky!

I really like their New World Pizza (BBQ chicken), and it's big enough for two IMHO. I make up for the savings though by ordering smoothies. I love their Key Wester (strawberrry banana). :lovestruc

We had just been talking about if we wanted to go to RFC this trip. We decided no, b/c it's so expensive, and it's not a fabulous value for us.

Then the next day I got this email, LOL. I immediately revised our plans, and redeemed for a Landry's giftcard on a rewards site I do, LOL. Hopefully we'll get the giftcard in time!

Our family loves the Rainforest Cafe.
Thanks so much for the coupon link kcchica!:)
My daughter and I always split the Chicken Fried Chicken and it is more than enough for both or us!
Mmm, I can't wait!
