Hi there :goodvibes

You can buy umbrellas and plastic ponchos in the shops but they are way TOO MUCH expensive!!!:scared1:
Quite a few attractions can be done when it rains anyway:Pinocchio, Snow White, It's a small world, Star Tours, POTC, Haunted Mansion etc etc

I would have thought umbrellas would be a bit dangerous too, with all the people around.

Ponchos are the way to go IMO, or take a pack-a-mac with you.

our forecast for last week was for rain every day but one - in reality we had one major downpour and two showers.
DLP is designed for rain.
It is not that bad unless you're determined to see the parade.
Having said that i stood and watched the studios parade in drizzle.
you can go in and watch a show like animagique or the lion king to warm up if you need to.
the only times you are in the open are walking to, from and between the parks.
there are arcades from the entrance to the castle (almost) and there are lots of other covered walkways.
most of the rides are covered or indoors.
i had spare socks in my bag and wore a long drizabone and we just got on with things. the park was wonderfully quiet.

When we went in May 2007 it rained 2 out of the 3 days we were there. And I mean rained - DH kept saying DLP needed to build an ark!!:;)

We brought 2 umbrellas- one really sweet minnie mouse for DD and a large red umbrella with Micky on it for DH and me to share. I didn't think the price was too bad - about 30euros for the 2 and they are well made. If you think how much you pay for a decent umbrella in the UK its on a par really. We still use the umbrellas now - especially with the UK weather!;)

Crowds wise it wasn't mega busy but it wasn't quite either. We were just careful and apologised in French and English if we did catch anyone but there was loads of people using them.

Doesn't matter if it rains or not - just enjoy the disney experience!!:thumbsup2

You can get from the park entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean without getting a single drop of rain on you. When you enter, head past City Hall and straight into Liberty Arcade. At the end of the arcade, turn left into Thunder Mesa Express passage and head through Fort Comstock, around the winding, covered paths bordering Central Plaza and into Adventureland Bazaar. Dash across the courtyard and under the covered walkway behind Les Tresors du Sheherazade boutique, which then leads to Pirates of the Caribbean and Peter Pan's Flight, right at the back of the park.
If you'd like to get to Phantom Manor instead, turn left when you get to Fort Comstock and walk along the covered wooden porches of the Western storefronts.

I would recommend the Studios for a rainy day. Because everything is covered there.
Animagique, Cinemagique, ToT, Crush, Studio Tram Tour, Rock n' Roller Coaster, Armagedon and soon Stitch.

For us, its grab a poncho and carry on with the fun!:cool1:

I loved riding BTMR in the rain, such a great time!!:goodvibes

As well as being difficult to manage when you are about in crowds of people.
Ponchos etc are definitely the way to go :)

i just looked and its sunny for the first 2 days im there, not sure bout the other 3 yet lol just hope it doesnt rain on my birthday :)

I have bought already quite some umbrellas at Disney, and they weren't any more expensive than the ones I bought at home.
However, the red ones that they sell right now are good quality, the black ones aren't. They never survived longer than 2 rainy times. (I tried 3 and now I have given up on them, the first red one I have has laready served on MANY rainy days!!)

Btw, most of the times while at DLP, we don't bother with umbrellas. A good hooded rain coat works quite well! (don't forget good shoes too)

Things to do while it rains: see shows, go on POTC, go shop, go eat, and just walk around. People are not made of sugar, we don't dissolve when we get wet! ;)
