Day 1 - Arrival Day Snacks and Drinks

Sorry this one is gunna be a boring one!

Our plane left from Buffalo at 7pm so we stopped and grabbed a quick bite for dinner beside the airport. I dont remember the name of the place but I do remember the food was pretty blah. I would have taken pictures buy my DBFs parents were with us and I didnt want them to think I was crazy :rotfl:.

So while we were waiting at the airport we grabbed some drinks.

DBF had a Sam Adams for the first time.
DisneyWorld2009004.jpg

he said it tasted like juice. im not a beer drinker, but i tried a sip and i thought it just tasted like beer?

I got a malibu and orange :lovestruc which is my fave.
DisneyWorld2009005.jpg

it was pretty good!

We arrived at PoP Century at 1am and we were feeling peckish but everything was closed for the night so we grabbed some chips from the vending machine.
DisneyWorld2009294.jpg

we dont have this flavour in Canada and let me say they were YUMMMY! we use a few snack credits on these over the trip!

so thats about it... i cant believe i took pics of airport drinks and chips lol but a girls gotta do what she can for a dining review right?!

uP next: Our first Disney Meal, 1900 Park Fare for a late breakfast!

Great so far, can't wait to read more! I'm especially interested in your experience at Universal - I'll be going there for the first time in October.

Great to read reviews from a fellow Canuck.

I would swear I've seen the Cheddar and Sour Cream chips somewhere but can't for the life of me remember :confused3

Looking forward to reading more...

And you have dill pickle potato chips and poutine in Canada so I think that totally beats out cheddar potato chips here.. :lmao:

Sam Adams tastes like juice :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hope you continue to post your dbf beer reviews!!

I hear that the chip and snack companies have different flavors for different countries! I am not a fan of the vinegar flavored chips...

Day 1 - Brunch - First Disney Meal of the Trip

DisneyWorld2009021.jpg

So since this was Craigs first trip and all, I wanted to plan soemthing special for our first morning, so I booked us a late 11am-ish breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. I thought it'd be a nice way to ease dbf into the whole disney thing and breakfast buffets are always yummy!

We loved loved loved the inside of this resturant! its so very pretty! Mary Poppins came to see us first, and she was great! Followed by Alice, Pooh and Tigger. We got to see all the characters twice! We liked Mary Poppins the best!

I'm sorry to say that for our first round of food I forgot to take pics until half way through Craig reminded me!
Sorry for the half eaten food pics! it wont happen again! promise!

My plate:
DisneyWorld2009022.jpg

The mickey waffles were delish! i will give them that! I was really excited to try the Eggs Lobster Bennidet but I didn't like it at all.

Craigs plate:
DisneyWorld2009023.jpg

Craig had tons of bacon and really liked the bacon, and potatoes... he didnt like the waffles much but he doesnt like waffles really anyways!

These are round two...

My plate:

The breakfast pizza also gets a thumbs down :( I had it again later at Chef Mickeys and thought it was great but this day .. not so much!

Craig's plate:

We shared this plate and it was very yummy!

Overall we enjoyed 1900 Park Fare but there were some things that I would say needed improvement. The biggest being that we didnt find there to be a whole lot of variety here for a buffet and the food was just good, nothing to write home about. We both gave it a 7/10. If the characters were not there we would probably only rate it a 5/10.

uP next....
Magic Kingdom snack + Pecos Bill

kung pao chips :rotfl2: See - now THAT's what I'm talking about!! never heard of them!! They sound good to me!!

:rotfl: What do you mean he cant remember the Beer? :rotfl: He better start trying!! :rotfl2: Dis'ers are looking forward to imparting his wisdom on their dh I mean - seriously try to remember the BEER!! :wizard:

Looking forward to the rest of your reviews! I agree- 1900 is a beautiful place, even if it is a buffet - I really like the atmosphere!

where are the character pictures? Did you see Mary Poppins? Does she know he may not remember the beer? :rotfl2:

Day 1 - Pecos Bill (and a Snack!)

Snack

Midway threw our day at Magic Kingdom, while we were in Tomorrowland we decided to stop for a snack. We split a cream cheese filled pretzel from the Launching Pad in Tomorrowland.
DisneyWorld2009040.jpg

I thought it was soo yummy! It was kinda sweet but also salty with cheese sprinkled on top! Craig on the other hand did not like it at all, he liked it on first bite but then decided after one more he hated it. That was a-ok with me though, because I was more then happy to finish it! I gave this a 7.5/10 and Craig gave it a 4/10.

Pecos Bill
After much thought as to what we wanted to eat we decided on Pecos Bill. And boy, that was a very good choice! We both got Taco Salads (I only took one pic but we both got the same things on it pretty much – except I didn’t get tomatoes because quite frankly... i hate chunks of tomatoes yuck!) I don’t remember what we got as a snack... I think it was a cookie but I didn’t take a pic – sorry!

this one was a pic of mine... you can see how i skimmed around the salsa just to get the juice without tomatoe chunks :rotfl: im crazy, i know lol
DisneyWorld2009051.jpg

We both LOVED this! It was so so yummy and we loved we could pick our own toppings from the topping bar! Craig was able to eat all of his but I wasn’t able to finish mine, it gets pretty heavy near the end. I also really loved that you could get pickles on the side from the topping bar! We both gave it a 9/10.

Just another tip for Pecos Bill... We were able to watch the spectromagic parade from here as well, we pulled up some of the chairs outside up to the fence and stood on them to watch the parade go by, it offered an okay view and there weren’t many people there.

uP next - Seaworld
