Our first night after flying in on 5/21 we have to run to SSR because we have to get our temporary DVC cards so we can buy discounted APs at Guest Relations in Downtown Disney- I thought it would be easy then to go to Raglan Road for dinner as we will be tired and probably not into going to the parks until the morning- I have ADRs but now I am worried that it may not be a great place for kids (6 and 4). We are okay with no entertainment but worried that it may be an adult place. Thoughts? :confused3

Has anyone gone here? Is it worth the time? Unofficial Guide says it is great but I would like a real opinion as I don't agree with them on everything- And is it a big drinking place I would not want to bring kids?

We ate here in Nov. on a Sat. night. It definately has a pub feel to it and it was loud. There were mostly adults but I did see some kids and we had our boys (12 & 10) with us. My boys didn't care for it. I think mostly because they thought the menu was a little different and couldn't decide what they wanted. We had 8:30 ressies so we were able to see the band. I didn't feel at all out of place there with kids and my DH and I loved it (both the food and the band). We have another trip in Sept without the kids and we are going back to Raglan Road. I think we'll have a better time there in particular without the kids.

If you are looking for a kid friendly place at DD, there is a Rainforest Cafe which your kids might like more. My kids also liked Planet Hollywood (though I didn't care for it very much). If Raglan Road is a place you've really been wanting to try - I'd say bring the kids and try it, just maybe go a little early. Have a great trip! :)

You are welcome to bring them, earlier I would think would be better for families with children as it gets a little loud and wild at night.

It's not the most kid friendly spot at DTD but it's not upscale or anything.

We took our boys last December, and it was good. They have a kids menu, but they didn't have crayons or paper for the kids to entertain themselves with. My kids really liked it when the band played and there was a girl there dancing. I didn't see many kids, so all the waitresses made a fuss over the boys. The food was VERY good. It was probably one of our best meals during that vacation. We will not be returning this year, not because of anything negative. But b/c there are too many restaurants at Disney to try!;)

Hi, just back and ate at Raglan Road two Saturdays ago. I really liked it, and my two girls 13 and 14 liked it, they allowed them to order from the kids' menu. We ate there for lunch and it wasn't horribly loud, no entertainment at that time.

However:

1. It is a pub, so basically it is great pub food. But it is....a bar. A really, really nice bar.

(One of my favorite memories of MY childhood was going with my Dad to a bar for lunch when I was about 4. I realized it was a grownup place, and he ordered me a cheeseburger with some sort of green cheese! I tried it, and it was delicious. Only you know how your kids will react to an adult atmosphere).

2. The food is Irish food, it may be too unfamiliar to your kids for them to be happy. However, the kids' menu has both burgers and mac and cheese, and I'll wager that their mac and cheese is pretty darn good. Here is that menu.

I had the Shepard's pie, and it was yummy, the sauce was great. We had the little sausages in batter with the mustard sauce also and the kids scarfed them down. They serve the sausages already on forks sticking up on a plate.

The Bread and Butter Pudding dessert is to die for. These aren't my photos, they are from tripadvisor, but they show the bread pudding with the little pitchers of cream and BUTTERSCOTCH (NOT caramel) sauce. SO good!

I would love to go to this place again.

Our kids (youngest 7, eldests 17 at the time), love Raglan Road. But then we've got a substantial amount of Irish blood flowing through our veins.

We (2 adults in our 50's) went last week & really enjoyed it. We had 8:30 reservations because we wanted to see the band & dancer that started at 9:00. There were still plenty of kids there. Later at night, I would think it could get rowdy--but it wasn't while we were there last Thursday. Good food & a great time!

IMO it is no more a bar type restaurant than let's say a houlihans or other chain as such that brings in a big bar crowd. The kids will be just fine there esp at the early time. We've brought our dd2 and ds6 there a handful of times with no problems. The kids menu can be a bit tricky if you have a picky eater as some of the normal kids things are a little different (ie the mac n cheese is a 5 cheese) so just check that out and see if it will work for you.

It is a great place for kids. We have taken our granddaughters with us several times. They love the food, excellent childrens menu, and the desserts are fantastic.

Go and enjoy!
