Rafikis planet watch - worth it?

We were planning on skipping it, but my sister loves animals so we decided to go last minute, and I am so glad we did! It was one of my favorite parts about AK. I loved the character interactions I had with chip and dale and I got to see rafiki for the first time in many years. They were doing a couple of procedures that were interesting to watch.
It was fun to walk around in the AC for a few minutes and take a nice train ride.

I wanted to do it when we were there at Easter, but we lost track of time and sort of forgot. It looks/sounds interesting to me, but I'm a big animal lover (went a year in pre-vet program before switching majors). And there's a petting zoo. I'm always down with getting my hands on a critter! But even with all of that, we still didn't work it into our day at AK. Next time.

Never skip it. Ya never know what could be going on there. also my DD like completing the Wilderness Explorer book but last time was really cool and I am 38 we got to meet and pet this HUGE rabbit, and a lizard. Rafiki was there and is quite entertaining. The train ride is relaxing and the AC is on in the complex too. We have a lot of fun there, and the whole thing takes about 1 hour

I enjoyed the train ride, but I'm a rail fan, so any train is a good train! :teeth:

My kids met Chip & Dale and Rafiki. Other than that, there wasn't much for us to see and do there.

If you don't care about the train ride, or don't want to meet the characters, you can skip it.

We only went to get Wilderness Explorer stamps and to finish the Lion Guard activity. We got there right at closing, so DD didn't get to pet the animals so we promised to go back next trip for that. Maybe she'll forget about it...

We're two adults and usually skip Rafiki's Planet Watch. It would be a better stop if we had kids due to the character meet and petting zoo, but as adults, there's not much for us there. It takes us longer to get out there on the train than the time we actually spend there.

Yeah that's my worry exactly.

One of the few things I remember about AK when I went as a kid was getting to see a snake's xray who had mistaken a golf ball for an egg and had swallowed it. Definitely was a cool experience. This last trip, we met with Rafiki with only a couple other people around, which was a lot of fun. He was hilarious. I told him my blue marker matched his face, and he turned around and showed me it also matched his butt!!! I died :rotfl2:But yea, I totally think its worth it.

We went over for a little bit, we loved seeing the vet procedure (the staff had noticed one of the animals was not behaving like herself so they brought her in to check things out) we loved watching the food rationing and we saw a show while it rained (it was outside but we were undercover). I won't say it was the highlight of our day but it was pretty cool!!!
