I am planning my second trip in August. My children LOVED animal kingdom so we are doing a full day. Their favorite ride in all of DW was Everest they were able to ride it back to back over 6 times, they loved the Safari, and the world of Pandora.

I am planning out my day and am trying to figure out if it's worth the hours to go to Rafaki's planet watch. We have not done it before and with Early Entry to Close we will have enough time..... or do we ]take an afternoon break at the resort?

What would you suggest for 9 year old twins.... they like animals but remember the thrills even more.

Do they like drawing or are either of them interested in zoology/vet? There’s a drawing activity where an animator shows how to draw a movie character. They also have a vet lab that may or may not have any activities going on. It depends on their schedule. The train to Rafiki’s has a view of some of the backstage areas if that’s something you might be interested in.

At 9 we found it worth it. Also if you are doing the Wilderness Explorer activities some of them are there. We have never found that it takes ‘hours’ but probably 90 mins - 2 hours for us.

We enjoy it and the train ride gives a nice behind the scenes view. We also like the drawing class.

My 8 almost 9 year old loves it. He's very into animals and science so its a huge draw for him. We went back there one year and stumbled upon the vets doing a surgery on a small rodent type something or another. The kids sat for almost an hour watching.

I saw a tiger getting surgery once.
Too bad I can't replicate that for my kids.

You never know if there will be a veterinary procedure but cast in the nutrition center are always happy to answer questions. There are animals both inside and outside at Rafiki's that you can't see anywhere else - I think the aardvarks and a reptile I can't remember are outside in addition to the farm animals for petting. Inside there are a bunch of littler reptiles, amphibians, and insects.

My granddaughter that age loved the Animation drawing class. Her Bambi turned out better than mine! I think it's worth the time. Vet area and petting farm also. My granddaughter loved the show on Dis+ about behind the scenes at Animal Kingdom, so she went looking for popcorn, the chicken. But alas, he was no longer with us.
It was a nice break.

The petting zoo probably not too exciting for them, LOL. The vet stuff can be hit or miss, sometimes there is nothing going on at all.

My 9 year old loved it. It was probably her favorite part of the day, but she also loves art and animals.
