Radisson Shuttle Reservations - No Early Shuttle Booking

Jsme said:
Do you think that day was not a busy one?

Everytime we have stayed and taken the shuttle the driver has always checked for names. They hae several type buses they use. Some larger than other ones. Sometime they even have a van they use. It just depends on who is scheduled or how many is schedule to go.

It was a very busy day - for the 10 night holiday cruise. They may have had more than one large bus that went early. We were so excited I don't even remember.

If we get the earliest shuttle over from the Radisson at 10:00 is the terminal even open then? Or will we be dropped off across the street until the terminal gates open? Where would we be waiting at, or will it be time by then to just go inside?

We went in March and stayed at the Radision. Booking the shuttle totally depends on who you talked to. We had to call back about 4 times before someone would book us, the other's told us they don't book until the week before. They don't seem to have much of a system for booking them.

I think this must vary. I say that because I have read it does not open until 10:30 but I think it was Verandah Man said he was at the terminal once earlier then 10:30 and it was opened.

If you are dropped off before it opens you just wait outside the terminal.

I had booked the shuttle about two months prior to are arrival via e-mail. I signed up for 10:30. It was for a 4-day Wonder cruise. Verified reservation on shuttle when we checked in. Next morning arrived to get on shuttle they did not have our name on the list! It turned out not to be a problem there was plenty of room. The cruise terminal was practically empty when we arrived it was great.

I have seen this happen before.

First of all, hi Selena.

We have gotten to the port before it opened before and we stood in line outside on the sidewalk. It wasn't a big deal at all. We left our luggage in the parking lot and stood in line by the terminal.

Hi Sandy!!!!
I wonder when we are there in a few weeks if the terminal will be open yet? I am so excited I can hardly stand it. Oh draw back to going is I have to go back to work before I can go on my cruise. Summer break ends in about 3 weeks.

Well, I had e-mailed Bridgett on Friday to see if she would put me on the schedule. In her wonderful, cordial way, she gladly put me on the schedule at the time I requested. Sounds like Bridgett is the Radisson's version of Debbie!

But, if I didn't contact her directly, it would have been quite a pain to have to "make a deal" out of the reservation to get it done prior to 2 weeks out. It is a shame that a customer should have to make a big deal out of something to get a service that a business owner offers.

TiggerKing, can you please tell me Bridgett's email? I want to set up my transfer to the port and Bridgett sounds like the one to talk to.

Thanks
Frank

Hello,

I just got done looking at the disboards.com with my General Manager. Our policy is that once you make your reservation (no matter what date it is for) you are able to sign up for our shuttle service over to the cruise port at anytime. Apparently there was some confusion and miscommunication with the front desk and we are hoping that this will now be fixed. I do apologize to you and everyone else on the disboards.com that had a problem with trying to book your shuttle. I am very glad that I was able to help anyone and satisfy them by getting this done for you all. I hope that you enjoy your time here at the hotel and have a wonderful cruise.

I hope this clears up all the confusion.

Thank you so much for taking care of this. I just emailed Bridget to confirm that we have reservations for our cruise. The person I talked to a few weeks ago seemed to just want to get me off the phone when I insisted that they had taken reservations in advance for several people on the board.

I told you guys she was the one to talk to. She is awesome!

I heard back from her this morning confirming that we have the reservation in place. Thanks! Now I don't have to worry about having to take care of this when we check in. :)

Bridgette obviously has not cleared up this confusion yet. ;)

I just made my ressies for June 06 and when I asked to book my shuttle I was told I could not do it until a week prior. At that time I told the lady booking about this thread and read her the letter from Bridgette. ;)

Well she went off to check and before long I found myself transferred to a voice mail of someone. I go out of the voicemail by going to the operator where I asked to book my shuttle time. Low and behold she put me on hold while she went to get the book. We now have our ressies for 2 nights in a two room king suite with whirlpool (aahhhhh) AND our 10am shuttle service. :flower:

Just got off the phone with Radisson. Due to the large number of reservations and cancellations they have been having, they will no longer let you book shuttle reservations more than a couple of weeks ahead of time. This causes me great concern about the ability to get a decent time for a shuttle reservation.

The person at the Radisson even said that they are considering not allowing ANY advance reservations, and you will only be able to sign up when you check in.

TAXI.

We tooka taxi last time from the Raddison (ordered it the night before)and it was VERY cheap and worth the peace of mind that we didn't have to deal with the shuttle!

We also booked the taxi in the morning--it was a great piece of mind, cause the shuttle seemed very unorganized. And we had no trouble taking the shuttle back after the cruise. But we beat everyone when we took the taxi!
