I booked Radisson at the Cape for the night before the cruise. I am nows wondering if I should have booked the Hampton Inn. I have tons of points for either hotel and will be able to get a free room at either. We are renting a car from Budget..is that close to either of these hotels? Hampton Inn has free breakfast...that is always nice:D We may be getting in late also so I just want a clean room with a nice bed. Any info would be great!!! Love you DIS people!!

My friend is sailing RC in June from Canaveral. Would she need to stay at Radisson like most DCLers do? Thanks, Melanie

I do not know where you are flying from - But we flew from the west coast and stayed at the Hampton - We will not stay there again - It wasn't dirty or anything - The service was fine - But there was no resturaunt - We arrive around 6:30 PM and wanted dinner - Well, there was no place to eat within walking distance (we did not have a car) = We went to the hotel next door because in their bar they had bar food - They offer free breakfast in the AM - but due to the time difference, we missed it - No way to get coffee or anything -

Now if you have a car - I don't see a problem - But just wanted to let you know how we felt -

Budget's rental drop off location is about a 5 minutes walk (about 2 blocks) from the Radisson. They still offer to drop you off, but I decided to walk. There is no closer car rental to any other hotel. There is a nice pizza place/ restaurant right next door, it's called Kelseys. They get very crowed around dinner time. They also offer take-out....Mark

Thank you Mark! We are renting a car from Budget so that will be an easy drop off! Too bad we are getting in so late Sat night that we won't be able to relax at the pool.

We stayed @ Hampton Inn in Feb. the night before our cruise & it was fine for an overnight, free breakfast, the rooms were clean. We drive down from NH so we have our own transportation. We're planning on staying @ Ron Jon's Caribe Resort before our 7 Day cruise in July. I've heard that Raddison has the best cruise transportation but we've never stayed there. Enjoy!! We booked the Radisson---but be careful if you make the reservation using an online travel type place. The rate we were originally booked at was 99 per night---HOWEVER--that does not include parking at the hotel--(70$ for a 7 day cruise). I had to cancel and re-book the room at the cruise package rate--which was 119---but it includes parking and two free breakfast buffets on Saturday morning.
So---be sure the room and rate you book includes parking if parking is something you will need.
