Update 4, 9/18/09
Alright, well....news on the status of some members has been improving. So great news first, Michael Sherman, who suffered a concussion, and major bodily/facial injuries, was released from the hospital late last night! He's gonna be out of it for a while and will definitely need more procedures done to fix bones/teeth etc....but he's home resting
Xander, who also suffered similar injuries to Michael, is set to be released later today!
Kris has been transported out of ICU finally! He now has his own room where he is resting and being monitored closely. Kids gonna be in a wheel chair for a long time and have some PT and rehab coming up, but should hopefully make a full recovery.
Marc is still in ICU. The plan is to wake him up today and hopefully get him into a room within the next couple days. He suffered similar injuries to Kris. Not quite sure on his prognosis, but if all goes well he will hopefully make a full recovery....keep your fingers crossed!
A little more sobering here...two members still remain in comas. At this point it is still a waiting game and all we can do is hope and pray for them. The doctors did say though, that the fact they have made it this far is definitely a good sign. Both of these kids are so incredibly tough that I just know they are going to make it!!!!!!!
In the less interesting but important side of things...this is turning into a legal/medical/financial nightmare! The bills are starting to come in, yet the investigation from the accident has not been released yet.....insurance companies are starting to get involved, lawyers etc.....its a mess. As if these families need more to worry about than if their kids are going to make it, now they have to deal with all of this.
I am doing my best to keep all of this organized so that they don't have to, but its tough...im pretty stressed, my hair is turning gray :/
Hopefully this will all be resolved soon. I can't stress enough how important your donations have been. The financial implications of this are immediate, and there is no chance we could make it through this without your help.
Thanks for all the love and support. Lets keep our fingers crossed!!!!
