Racist,ignorant, or misunderstood? O'Reilly remarks

I guess the rift really is not whether or not O'Reilly thinks blacks can behave in a civilized manner, but his statement shows that he thinks a large slice of America needs to be reminded of this - otherwise why make the statement?

If in the year 2007 there are folks out there that need to be reminded that blacks can act civilized in a resturant----that particular subset of America is not going to listen anyway because their bigotry is soul deep.


But I certainly give credit for O'Reilly knowing that what he said is not a shock to himself. But it is that he thinks his audience may need to be reminded.

For all that people keep saying that O'Reilly was trying to perform some educational public service for those who DO think that way (even though he doesn't) -- his exact words were:



He couldn't get over the fact ... that's not learned Bill helping to move race relations forward because he doesn't think his viewers are as sophisticated as he is. That's a guy who was truly flabbergasted by the disconnect between his expectations and reality.

Why do you assume that he thinks that a large slice of americans think that way. Why not a smaller slice, I have seen plenty of messages said to the Many to convert the few. Why don't we take it the other way, Lets say he was trying to get his audience to point out to the few who do Sterotype how stupid that is. I don't think there was any point in the segment where O'Reilly thought that his entire audience was guilty of Sterotyping. The way you think, If someone gives a drugs are bad speach at a High School, They are doing it because they think the entire school is on drugs.

Except Media Matters also includes the actual video or audio from the original broadcast, and they include a few extra sentences at each end as so not to do exactly what you are accusing them of.

One has to love the irony here that an established poster did not want to post as themselves and instead chose to create a totally new identity in order to falsely claim that deliberate deception was involved with something else. Care to tell us who you really are?

O'Reilly truly has the audience that he deserves.

#1) you would be incorrect. They do the EXACT opposite of what you suggest. They purposely use quotes to convey THEIR OWN MEANING, not the intended meaning of the QUOTEE. It is dishonest. See the current Rush "contraversy" for further proof.

#2) You would be incorrect again. I have been lurking here for about 2 years reading in amazement all the stupidty/dishonesty that is spewed forth from both sides of the aisle. (only exceeded by the democraticundergound and freeper websites.) If you have any prove to the contrary, I'd like to see it, otherwise, you should refrain from making the allegation. (BTW, as soon as I registered, I knew someone would accuse me of that.)



#3) It is hard to consider one's opinion as honestly thought out or fair when their clipart shows such contempt for people they dont agree with.
