If you were all caught up, my dear, you'd know the answers to your questions. :rolleyes1

While in line I looked over to my right and spotted a celebrity! Well, those not into running might not know who he is, but I sure did. It was John “The Penguin” Bingham – author of Running for Mortals and Marathoning for Mortals

Nice to keep in touch with old friends :goodvibes

I would never have known the celebrity

Looking to see if there is an update....:rockband:

And I promise ... no more skimming or reading unless I am completely alert, alive and concious or at least posting when I am.... I am sorry and I do feel bad that you caught me :littleangel:

Hope you report on that ride that was not quite open when I was there in '06 or maybe you did not ride it after all :scared1:

great updates.

Congrats on doing this, it is quite an accomplishment. :thumbsup2

Ok LOVE that Star Wars shirt. :) I am a big fan.

Looking forward to more.

Yes, it is. :) That's okay. I'm not sure I would have recognized him if they hadn't said his name. :rolleyes1

I was just teasing you, Nat! Trust me - I have been known to skim. :rolleyes1

Are you talking about EE? :confused3

:welcome: Glad to have you along!

:welcome: and thanks! Good for you for challenging yourself! :thumbsup2 I'm sure someone else can answer your question for sure, but I do believe it needs to be at least a 10k for proof of time. Also, I think you can put your estimated time of finish up to 2:45 without needing to show proof of time.

you got it!

Thanks to both of you!

I'm finding your journal very inspiring! I've read the first 75 pages.

Liz and I made it back to Pop, dropped our stuff from the expo in our room, and headed back over to the bus stop to catch a ride to Epcot. When we arrived at our destination, we realized we were already late for our ADR at Teppan Edo. I had never eaten there before so I was really excited about the meal and didn't want to miss it.

We walked VERY quickly through the World Showcase and arrived about 30 minutes after ADR time. Liz explained the situation to the CM and we were told to go on up. :cool1:

I had just enough time to hit the restroom before we were seated. Our group consisted of a couple and a family of 4. I immediately loved the décor of the restaurant. So neat! Liz and I both would have loved to indulge in an adult beverage, but we decided it wasn’t the best idea with a half-marathon the next morning.

We both ordered the filet mignon and watched our chef prepare the food.

Do you see the size of those mushrooms?? We were drooling over them. Finally, it was time to eat. All of the food was delicious. I can’t wait to take Chuck and the boys back there as I think they’d all love it. We decided to share a piece of the Ginger Cake and I loved it!

Now that our meal was finished, we could take a leisurely stroll through the park. We stopped in to browse at the shop in Japan and I called home to talk with Chuck and the boys.

During one of our earlier conversations, Liz and I had talked about how late we wanted to stay out. We knew we had a very early wake up time, but we also figured we could sleep once we were home! ;) But, we decided to play it by ear and see how we felt after dinner. I think both of us were tired from our early morning and travel, not to mention our race to make it to our dinner.

The only attraction that I hadn’t done yet at Epcot was Mission: Space. We headed that way to ride and then we would head back to our room. We chose the green side and had very little wait time.

I really enjoyed Mission: Space. It’s amazing how they can make you feel like you’re really taking off and experiencing all of the adventures along the way. I will say that I felt dizzy during many moments of the ride. There is NO WAY I would ever do the orange side. Green is good enough for me. I’m excited to take my boys on it, but not sure my middle son could handle it as he gets motion sick rather easily.

I was disappointed that we weren’t able to hang out longer. I really wanted to spend more time in the World Showcase without my kids and just enjoy looking around. But, I was so tired. We headed toward the exit, but did stop for one picture.

We had started discussing what we were going to do about breakfast. We were hoping the Pop food court would be open early for marathon weekend. When we arrived, this is what we saw:

Woohoo! We were good to go. No hot meals, but we saw they had some hard boiled eggs in the grab and go section. Satisfied that we’d be able to get some decent food into us in the morning, we headed to our room to start getting our gear all ready.

We spent some time going through our goody bags from the expo and getting our clothes and gadgets ready for the morning. Then came the task of deciding exactly what time we needed to get up. I took a shower so that I wouldn’t have to in the morning. Liz set her alarm for 2:45. Ouch!

I’m someone who needs white noise when I sleep, especially when I’m at a hotel and there are people passing by my door or in the room next to us. At home I use a huge floor fan. The bathroom fan had a timer and only stayed on for 30 minutes tops. Then I discovered that the alarm clock had different “white noise” sounds! Unfortunately, most of them were kind of annoying. I finally settled on one that had ocean waves, but also some sporadic bird sounds. It wasn’t ideal, but I was hoping it would be enough to help me sleep.

By 10:30 we were in our beds with lights out.

Up next – Half-marathon day begins!

I'm glad you made it to Teppan Edo! That is a yummy place! Sorry you didn't get to spend some time browsing the World Showcase. I remember it being a bit nippy that evening too. I'm with you that I will never try the orange side of Mission Space. I would be one of those that needs the barf bag! I cannot wait to hear about race day!

So funny Carissa that you need white noise to go to sleep I am one that needs something on to get to sleep. Didn't know the clocks at the resort have a white noise maker on them. I usually leave the TV on and that does the trick except the one at the All Stars the sleep button didn't work. I still left it on so I could get a little sleep. Not sure if you guys slept well the night before the race but I never do.

I will have to try Teppen Edo - that looks really good. We normally don't do any table service resturants but I do like a good Japanese steakhouse (not that I have it very often - LOL)

I do think we found it chilly when we walked out after dinner. I remember it was very windy when we were at the expo and we were worried it was going to be that way during the race.

I can't wait to tell you about race day! :goodvibes

The TV doesn't work for me. First, it gives off too much light. Second, it's not a constant noise. The talking would distract me. That's why fans work so well for me. It's just a constant noise, but not interesting enough for me to listen to. :rotfl:

Strangely enough, I can only ride Mission Space Orange...the green side makes me dizzy! I am weird I guess. Can't wait to hear about the race!

I am trying to keep up with 3 different TRs and I am trying to figure out who is who! I think there is you, Liz and Jenny I keep seeing in all these pictures? :rolleyes1 Actually this is more like it ----> :dance3:

Anyhow, I am glad you posted about the white noise thing b/c I hate sleeping in hotels for the very same reason... noise! Whenever we drive to a hotel it is no problem for me b/c I bring a fan. But when we fly to Disney it always presents a challenge. I def need some sort of white noise at any Disney hotel. When we go again in April I am going to check out the alarm clock at Kidani to see if there is some sort of white noise option. That would be great! I can't imagine running a race and not getting enough sleep the night before. That would really stink. Actually, if there was an option to block out snoring that would be perfect (my husband snores)! ;)

At home its the fan that works for me but in a hotel I have to use the TV. :happytv:

Can't wait to read more :yay:
