Day 1 - Tuesday January 15th

Monday night we both couldn’t sleep, so at 3 AM we both turned to each other and said ‘Let’s go!’ We had the alarm set for 5, but we were just way too excited. By the time we had the car packed and actually left NC it was 4:45. I had a great pic of the GPS showing our arrival time as 12:50 and our leaving time as 4:45, but for some reason all of our day 1 pictures got deleted. I have no idea how, but at least it was just the first day. We had a plan to get Chick Fil A in Columbia, SC which is the last Chick till Jacksonville on our route and we love their breakfast, however when we got to Columbia we were making such great time that Chick wasn’t open! Our new goal became to make it to Jacksonville before breakfast was over. We stopped at a Wilco so I could get coffee and we could get gas and made it to Jacksonville at 10:15! You can bet we enjoyed our chick breakfast!

We made it to Disney around 1-1:30 and checked in at Port Orleans Riverside. We had booked 3 different reservations for that 4 night stay to get the best rates possible (first night AAA to get the parking pass, second and third AP rate, and 4th wedding rate). Our cast member Anna was great and made sure we’d be in the same room all 4 nights. We got to our room in the Arcadia Manor House and I made the Welcome Bags. First I made all the ones for people staying at POR and Bob brought them over to the front desk. While he was getting all that done I made the rest for our guests staying at Boardwalk, All Star Music, Coronado Springs, and Yacht Club. I was glad I had put all the labels on the bags before hand. We had also pre stamped and pre address labeled the post cards and cut all the ribbons to the right size. That saved a ton of time. I had all the bags finished in about an hour and a half. Then we went to deliver the rest of them. By this time it was around 5 and we were hungry. We decided to go to Lee and Rick’s, this place Bob used to go to all the time w/ his family. You sit at the bar, and they shuck the oysters right on the bay and a whole bucket, about 3 dozen oysters are only $14. It’s a great hidden treasure in Orlando. We had about half raw and half steamed.

After dinner we went to Downtown Disney to get out AP’s processed and to get the premium added to them. We went to Ghiradelli'’s and had the best ice cream EVER. I think it was called mint dream.

And finished.

Then we went over to the Adventurer’s Club to check it out. We had already planned to have our joint Bachelor/Bachleorette parties there and had never been there. We loved it but left early so we’d still be surprised when we went back with our friends on Friday night. We hoped into DisneyQuest for a little bit since we had our premium annual passes, and them we went back to the room.

Day 2 – January 16th

We woke up and went to Men’s Warehouse to pick up Bob’s tux. Then we went next door to a salon and both got our eyebrows waxed. Then we drove to the airport to pick up my best friend Kerri and her boyfriend Michael. Kerri was my roommate when I studied abroad in Florence and she is the person I love most in the world aside from Bob, and probably the only other person I could live with. It’s funny because she and Bob have the same personality and Michael and I have the same personality, so it’s almost as if we found the male counterparts of each other. We LOVE hanging out with them and don’t get to see them nearly enough because they live in Ohio.

So we took them to All Star Movies and they were upgraded to a preferred room in the Calypso building overlooking the pool with a king size bed. Score! We had to drop off my dress at Bob’s parents room cause they were staying at BoardWalk Villa’s and we’d be staying there Saturday through Thursday and would be too busy Saturday morning w/ the Segway tour to bring all our stuff to Boardwalk. So we were carrying my dress on the Boardwalk and what happens? A BIRD ****S ON MY DRESS BAG!

We cleaned off the bag and the dress was totally fine, but WOAH. A bird freaking **** on my wedding dress!

So after we dropped off the dress we were all pretty hungry so we decided to go to Epcot because Kerri’s vegetarian and she really wanted to try the platter at Tangerine Café. We all loved it there. We quickly went back to the Boardwalk because we knew we’d be spending a lot more time at Epcot on Saturday w/ the Segway tour and Kerri and Michael wanted to go to Animal Kindgom. We did all sorts of Animal Kingdomy stuff, like Bugs Life, Primeval Whirl, Everest, and just exploring.

Dead mice and fish for the birds at Animal Kingdom.

Then we headed over to Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner at Boma. Kerri loved all the options. We had a great time as always and they even made us a special dessert w/ chocolate covered strawberries. When we went to pay they told us that Bob’s dad had already paid for it. We took Kerri and Michael back to their hotel and fell right to sleep.

Day 3 – January 17th

We woke up early to meet Michael and Kerri for breakfast at Crystal Palace. We had a great time and took a lot of pictures.

After seeing Bob’s ears, which said groom on the back, Kerri needed to get name ears for herself and Michael. After that we went on a bunch of rides, Kerri remembered the Swiss Family Robinson being super fun when she was little, here is us on it, not having super fun:

Kerri later realized it was Tom Sawyer Island that was super fun and not Swiss Family Tree house. We them proceeded to make fun of her because the ride she chose for us was basically the stairs…

Then we went on Big Thunder and Kerri and Michael sat in front of us – I love this shot:

We went on Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, People Mover, Monster Inc (they picked on me twice, they used me as one of the people when you come in and it said under me ‘Has kissed a monster’ then it panned to Bob, then they used me for the number guessing person. They also used my joke, but they had no way of knowing it was mine).

By now it was dinner time and we were waiting for our friend Katie and her boyfriend Marty to join us for dinner at Liberty Tree. We had early reservations 4:10. We met Katie when we were camping out for Pearl Jam tickets for their last tour. We slept outside for 3 nights, took off work and everything, and Katie was the person next to us in line and we instantly bonded. She is the awesomest. I was wearing my limited edition only 1,500 made Pearl Jam sweatshirt that day. I’m a total dork – I know.

So anyway, we’re waiting and there is no Katie. While we were waiting I had a little wedding stress meltdown and nearly broke up w/ Bob, but then Katie showed up at 5 being all ‘Am I late?’ and we’re like ‘Umm yeah, like it was at 4:10’. Turns out Bob gave her 5:15, the time it was supposed to be and never told her it was changed. The whole situation was so funny because Bob and I were just having all this drama, and then Katie comes totally oblivious to all of it, and it’s just like how can’t you laugh. We ended up having a great dinner and I LOVED Liberty Tree Tavern.

When we finished SpectroMagic was just about to start and we stayed for it. When it was over we were exhausted and went back to the hotel – the next morning we had our very early rehearsal and lunch w/ Cinderella for 30 people.
