Day 1 - Tuesday January 15th
Monday night we both couldnt sleep, so at 3 AM we both turned to each other and said Lets go! We had the alarm set for 5, but we were just way too excited. By the time we had the car packed and actually left NC it was 4:45. I had a great pic of the GPS showing our arrival time as 12:50 and our leaving time as 4:45, but for some reason all of our day 1 pictures got deleted. I have no idea how, but at least it was just the first day. We had a plan to get Chick Fil A in Columbia, SC which is the last Chick till Jacksonville on our route and we love their breakfast, however when we got to Columbia we were making such great time that Chick wasnt open! Our new goal became to make it to Jacksonville before breakfast was over. We stopped at a Wilco so I could get coffee and we could get gas and made it to Jacksonville at 10:15! You can bet we enjoyed our chick breakfast!
We made it to Disney around 1-1:30 and checked in at Port Orleans Riverside. We had booked 3 different reservations for that 4 night stay to get the best rates possible (first night AAA to get the parking pass, second and third AP rate, and 4th wedding rate). Our cast member Anna was great and made sure wed be in the same room all 4 nights. We got to our room in the Arcadia Manor House and I made the Welcome Bags. First I made all the ones for people staying at POR and Bob brought them over to the front desk. While he was getting all that done I made the rest for our guests staying at Boardwalk, All Star Music, Coronado Springs, and Yacht Club. I was glad I had put all the labels on the bags before hand. We had also pre stamped and pre address labeled the post cards and cut all the ribbons to the right size. That saved a ton of time. I had all the bags finished in about an hour and a half. Then we went to deliver the rest of them. By this time it was around 5 and we were hungry. We decided to go to Lee and Ricks, this place Bob used to go to all the time w/ his family. You sit at the bar, and they shuck the oysters right on the bay and a whole bucket, about 3 dozen oysters are only $14. Its a great hidden treasure in Orlando. We had about half raw and half steamed.
After dinner we went to Downtown Disney to get out APs processed and to get the premium added to them. We went to Ghiradelli's and had the best ice cream EVER. I think it was called mint dream.
And finished.
Then we went over to the Adventurers Club to check it out. We had already planned to have our joint Bachelor/Bachleorette parties there and had never been there. We loved it but left early so wed still be surprised when we went back with our friends on Friday night. We hoped into DisneyQuest for a little bit since we had our premium annual passes, and them we went back to the room.
