While doing some family research this weekend, I came across the following recipe in a section called, "for the sick room."
"Egg Snow for Invalids
Raw eggs prepared this way are transformed into a dainty, which is readily taken. Separate the yolk from the white of the egg and beat the white to a stiff froth. Add to the yolk, a teaspoonful of new milk, sugar to taste, add a little orange or lemon juice, or the juice of fresh garden fruit. Stir in the white and pour all into a tumbler."
It's a wonder any of us survived childhood!
BTW - This was taken from a cookbook published in 1936.
