Quietest Deluxe?

AKL was the most quite resort we have ever stayed at by far....we stayed in sept 07 and it was great! we are trying to do all the resorts one day but when we booked our 08 vacation we could not help but go back,it is now our very fav resort now....it may have something to do with it being so far from everything else but since we bring our own car it does not matter because we drive to the parks anyway also could have something to do with all the restricted areas....

The quietest resort I've stayed at was the YC (I've stayed at all the deluxes besides BC and GF). The rooms, hallways, gift shop, and lobby are by far the mellowest on property.

i agree completely! We stayed in the conceirge level and it was awesome! So peaceful!!

I happen to think the Contemporary is one of the quietest Deluxe Resorts. Unless there is a huge group of people checking in the lobby is pretty quiet. If you were to reserve a Tower room it's quiet in the morning and mid afternoon. As for the evening while there might be more people on the 4th floor eating at the restaurants and looking at the shops, you can't really hear any noise. That includes when the Express Monorail goes threw and when the Resort Monorail comes and stops there. Now if you want complete quiet then a room in the South Garden Wing is the place to be. Over there you are away from the Tower and the only people you would see or hear are those who are staying there.

We stayed at the Contemporary when I was young and I don't remember any noise there, but I was a kid (I was 14 during my last stay).

Traveling as an adult, the two quietest resorts we have stayed at were the AKL and YC. We did have some VERY noisy neighbors at the YC. A college-aged boy and girlfriend who decided to have a VERY vocal fight with lots of foul words and screaming about each others various "partners". We called the front desk and it was dealt with pronto.

We had neighbors on the other side of our room that we never heard during our entire stay, even when we were all out on our balconies. I also agree with the previous poster about the quiet pool at the YC. We also had it to ourselves for pretty much our entire stay!

I had some of the best sleep ever at the AKL!!! We live in the country and aren't used to a lot of noise at night...so if we think it's quiet...then it's quiet!

I have never stayed at AKL so I can't say, but in my opinion I would say Yacht Club and GF are the quietest! Have fun planning!!:cloud9:

AKL if and only if you are far, far from the lobby. I would *not* want to be in one of the rooms on the 3rd floor between the lobby and elevators unless you require no more than 4-5 hours of sleep per night. If you are farther away and have a savannah view, this is a very peaceful, serene place to stay.

GF is pretty quiet, in our experience. Same for Yacht Club. We don't find WL quiet at all. It's a popular choice for young families and there are always lots of kids running around. Then, add the noise from Whispering Canyon Cafe (which IMO is misnamed -- it ought to be Echoing Canyon Cafe), and you've got a lobby that is incredibly noisy.

I agree GF can be noisy around 1900 Park Faire but, beyond that, it's pretty quiet, generally. Of course, it does have the pianist in the afternoon and band in the evening, but we enjoy those.
