Quiet times..Mar, Apr, or May?

Looking at making our 2nd family trip home to BLT next year...We were originally scheduled for 6 nights during 4th of july...but after more thought, I figured it'd be way to hot/crowded and would just result in too many meltdowns for the kids (Andrew 4yr and Kaitlyn 1)...Our last trip was in October and it was great..lines were short, pool was almost empty, etc...

So! DW & I decided maybe take advantage of the kids still being young enough to pull them out of school for a week and not being a big deal maybe we'll go in Mar, Apr, or May when the kids are still in school and the park is quieter...

So, I'm asking for advice! Which of those 3 months is the best weather/crowd wise to go? We're looking at doing a Sunday thru Saturday stay....

We have gone several times in May and it's not too bad, early May a better choice. As for March or April, watch for spring breaks. They occur at many different times depending on the area. Easter time is very busy. As for the heat, May is hot. We went May 2009 during a heat wave with temps of 97-99 daily. March and April generally a little cooler.

This exactly. We were there Mother's Day week 2009 and it was very hot as this states! In fact, it was hotter that entire week than it was the last week of August this year. Bizarro weather. (In August we not only *enjoyed* sitting outside to eat at Rose & Crown, I had to wear my sweater!)

Easter is late next year, so if you're looking to avoid crowds, I'd plan for the first few weeks of May.
