Quiet, romantic restaurant at WDW?

This might be a dumb question - I'm a Disney neophyte - but the hubby and I will have one evening alone in WDW on our upcoming trip and were wondering about quiet/romantic spots to eat dinner (besides V&A) on the property. OR, if that's a silly idea (quiet at WDW?), I'd love to hear your recommendations for alternative fun for adults (besides the nightclubs - nothing new there for us former barmaids).

I think Palio at the Swan would be a nice choice. I enjoy the food and there are generally not too many children here. It is a dimly lit setting that is very tranquil. One night we were there they had a strolling guitarist (minstrel?) that was quite nice.

Citrico's is quiet and relatively romantic. Bistro de Paris is also. Our favorite though besides V&A is the "wine room" at California Grill. Great food, great view, quiet and romantic. The main room is loud and busy but if you ask for a table in the back room and are willing to wait, you'll be amazed at the difference in the sound level.

Make a late priority seating for Le Cellier, like around 8:30 or the latest they book. Since Future World is closed after 6 pm you should have a nice quiet walk by the large fountain and be able to see all of the lights of World Showcase as you walk through the rose garden approaching Canada. (This is provided you are not already in Epcot for the day and you enter just before you dine...trust me the walk is just as romantic as the meal) This restaurant has never let me down. It never seems like I am in a theme park when I dine here. Great food and service. Since the park would officially be closed by the time you are finished dining, you will have a quiet leisurely stroll out too. The park is never more magical than it is at night when you feel like the only people there.

I think Jiko has a great quiet atmosphere and the dimmed lighting could be considered romantic. Plus the food is fantastic and the wine list is excellent.

Jiko's at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Palio's at The Swan
Citrico's at Grand Floridian
Artist's Pointe at Wilderness Lodge
Yachtman's Steak Club at The Yacht Club

All of the above are quieter than average for a WDW restaurant and usually have fewer children.

The best "adult friendly" restaurants:
Palio --the strolling muscian(s) adds to the romance.
Citrico
Wine room at California Grill
Bistro D' paris

To a lesser extent--Jiko, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Shula's, Portobello Yacht Club.

You have all overlooked the most relaxing, quiet experience of all- nothing beats a soothing dinner at the Whispering Canyon at the WL- be sure to ask for the the ketchup!!!:smooth:

(Just Kidding!)

Seriously, we second the vote for Artist Point for both romantic atmosphere and fabulous food.

I second (I guess it's a "third" ) the nomination for Artist's Point at WL. We took the boat over from the Contemporary at sunset, had a cocktail at the little bar there, and a wonderful dinner. From there, we took a cab to DD -- it was a very special night!:D

WL is so beautiful and the boatride makes you feel like you are being spirited away to someplace really secluded -- the sounds of the "crickets" greet you! Make sure you walk the grounds and poke around the hotel a bit -- really cool!

Depending on where you are staying....room service can be romantic. We are staying at Contemporary on the 14th floor and they will deliver room service from the California Grill. We are planning o eat on the terrace looking at the Castle - while the 3 year old sleeps inside! Romantic!

That Restaurant in Epcot that has the view of the Aquarium was romantic, but the food was way overpriced even for Disney Standards. We ate there while on our honeymoon and enjoyed the atmosphere.

San Angel Inn at the Mexico Pavillion at EPCOT. The lighting is great. The restaurant is next to a river and it is quiet, as long as the Mexican singers are not working. Trust me, it is a great restaurant for couples. Enjoy!
