Michaels doesn't have QK. It is mainly lss, although I know Archiver's has it.
I love mine! The alphas are now bundled, so you get upper case, lower case and numbers all at once for about $200 for the largest two sizes (only one of which actually fits into the Squeeze and it called the Classic size, about 1 1/4 inches tall). It used to be much more ( I got a couple for the $400 price. DH was NOT happy:

) The other size is for the Revolution which I also have.
The minis and skinni mini alphas are less than one inch high and go for $150.
You can buy the shapes individually, it is just cheaper if you get the bundles when they come out each month. Yep, they have a release each month and some of my friends are rabid about it.
The single shapes run $7, the doubles (they have 2 dies in order to make the shape) run $13.
If you are really interested in QK, go to their website and get a list of retailers in your area. Then call them and get a feel for what they tell you. That's how I found my now-friend's store. I called a few stores nearby and one of them led me to her. She is an hour away, but worth the trip. She also has sales (BOGO's, 40% a few times a year.) In fact, due to her sales, I came home with 25 dies last week that I had had on layaway.
I have to be good for awhile.
I know I sound like a QK employee, but I am not. DH has told me when I really like something, I could sell ice makers to Eskimos:
