Hi. I saw a lady using one on Saturday, at all all day crop. I guess I should of asked questions. Are they worth buying? If Micheals have them I could use the 40% coupon. On thier web, they run $89.00. What are the basic costs for a pack of templets or do they come seperate?. I guess I better start checking around here (Ontario, Canada) first, before heading south in a couple of weeks.

I got the Quickutz several years ago and enjoyed it at first. Unfortunately, a new set of alphabet dies is VERY expensive. Depending on the size (minis vs. regular size) you could easily spend over $150 for just upper case--double that if you want lower case too. If you want shadows, it's that much again! It is nice and portable, but also very laborious (sp?) to use. You have to squeeze the handle thing really hard and switch dies for every letter. Now that I've got my cricut, I don't know that I'll use the quickutz at all. The cricut is so much more flexible and less expensive in the long run.

I don't have a cricut, but I do have the Quickutz system and several dies and shapes. Actually I have quite a collection! I like this system, because if you want just one die, you can purchase them that way. I have noticed with these newer systems, that the shape dies are sold as packages and are also quite expensive. What if you are not really interested in most of the package? I kinda like purchasing one at a time. Yes you do have to squeeze, but the newer ones come with a base and handcushion and you just sit it on a table top and push down and it is so easy! The old blue ones are very difficult to punch, I agree, but I just got the new pink one and I can't believe the difference! Much easier! I also like the size of the shapes. They are really cute! Also the system cuts really good into bazzil paper! I also like the size, because it fits into the small X machine and you can just make stickers out of all your die cuts!

Michaels doesn't have QK. It is mainly lss, although I know Archiver's has it.

I love mine! The alphas are now bundled, so you get upper case, lower case and numbers all at once for about $200 for the largest two sizes (only one of which actually fits into the Squeeze and it called the Classic size, about 1 1/4 inches tall). It used to be much more ( I got a couple for the $400 price. DH was NOT happy::eek: ) The other size is for the Revolution which I also have.

The minis and skinni mini alphas are less than one inch high and go for $150.

You can buy the shapes individually, it is just cheaper if you get the bundles when they come out each month. Yep, they have a release each month and some of my friends are rabid about it.

The single shapes run $7, the doubles (they have 2 dies in order to make the shape) run $13.

If you are really interested in QK, go to their website and get a list of retailers in your area. Then call them and get a feel for what they tell you. That's how I found my now-friend's store. I called a few stores nearby and one of them led me to her. She is an hour away, but worth the trip. She also has sales (BOGO's, 40% a few times a year.) In fact, due to her sales, I came home with 25 dies last week that I had had on layaway.

I have to be good for awhile.:guilty:

I know I sound like a QK employee, but I am not. DH has told me when I really like something, I could sell ice makers to Eskimos::woohoo:

I love my qk dies. I have the hand tool but I don't use it. you can use the dies in the sizzix sidekick which is great cause you just roll them through. you have to buy the adaptor thingies for them to lay on, but it works great. :) I like the qk dies the best, they don't look quite so "childish" to me as the rest of the systems out there. maggie

I bought a couple of QK dies at a Scrapbook expo but I use them in my BigShot...they would great and are so cute!

I love the QK alphabets because of the styles and sizes they have, but as others have said they are expensive! In hindsight I probably would not have bought mine and would have used the single dies in the sizzix. I think they have a good product, it's just not as economical as others on the market.

One thing to keep in mind, they now have larger dies that do not fit in the hand tool. You have to buy the QK Revolution, which is similar to a sizzix to use the new larger dies.

Actually, the Cuttlebug machine works great with Quickutz (the new 4" size and the old one) and is about half the cost of the new Revolution. I have alot of QK and love them. Michaels doesn't sell Quickutz. If you check online, you can get some pretty good prices. Kathryn

I have Quickutz and liked it however the alphabets are very expensive. I recently purchased a Cricut and love it and the flexibility with the fonts, plus the cartridges are about 1/2-1/3 the cost of a new quickutz alphabet and have a lot of really neat features! It also saves a lot of time. I don't know how I ever scrapped without it! I will be unloading my quickutz soon.

I have one and i like it until I bought the Cricut. I have a couple of die cuts and the shadow of an alphabet(which can be used alone). I use to have a lss that carried them but they went out of business, so its not as easy for me to get them. I am thinking of selling mine.

I love my QK! Use it all the time. Although the dies are expensive, you can great deals on Ebay right now. Lots of people selling their alphabets and dies. I bought the Studio set for under $100.

I had the quickutz, and I liked it okay. I sold all but one alphabet set, no one wants it. I bought the Cricut, it has been the best investment I've ever made. In march they're getting ready to release 2 Disney Cartages and that just is exciting.
