Hi
I know that Disney closed the loop-hole people previously exploited by parking their cars for free at DTD and then taking free transport to parks.
However, we're staying off site and it took us a looong time to get to DTD daytime as a result last year. Our shuttle drops us off at the Epcot transport bus drop off so can anyone tell me..
1) Which Hotel resort is quickest to head to for a connection to DTD ?
2) Do you need to show any Resort Hotel ID to use these Buses ?
Thanks in advance

The closest resort, via the International Gateway entrance to Epcot, is the Beach Club. You can take a water taxi or walk (it's quicker to walk). You don't have to show any kind of ID to use the buses.

Don't discount the taxi option for getting around WDW - we use it a lot. :thumbsup2

ETA: I've just remembered that we used the bus to get from DTD to the BoardWalk last August and it took forever. The bus stopped at all 3 stops at DTD, then went via Typhoon Lagoon before circling all the Epcot resorts (including the Swan and Dolphin). I don't know whether or not it goes via all the resorts on each occasion, but it certainly takes in Typhoon Lagoon both there and back.

Depending which side of Epcot you are at - you could get a bus to Saratoga Springs - that resort is near DTD.

Yes, that's probably a better bet. You can walk or get the water taxi across to DTD.

Definitely get a bus to SSR, one of the bus stops is within walking distance of DTD (just ask the driver) :thumbsup2

dont get the bus to SSr as it means there is les room for members we hate not being able to get on bus,we pay for that privalage with our dues.bus transportation is for people satying on site.thats why they changed it

Best and quikest way is a taxi $10

That hadn't occurred to me, Paul. We've never had a problem with the buses at SSR, but, then again, we don't use them that much. We'll probably be doing so a bit more in November.

you can use transportation to go from park to park, you can got to hotel from park if your have a meal there or want to look round.but not to sidestep parking at parks

So, as they are using a shuttle bus to get to the parks and not avoiding any parking charges they can get the SSR bus from Epcot and have a look round on their way through to the Marketplace.
Sounds like a plan.

no there not,as there not using bus to go to SSR there using it to go to marketplace
If you have bought a ticket it gives you the right to go from park to park and park to hotel, but not to cercomvent it to go to DD
People staying onsite paytowards the busses in there room rate,or in the case of dvc its dues
There has been a lot of debate about bus hopers over on the dvc boards whre its fround upon
Stil the quickest way is taxi as it will take you straight there

But as they are passing through SSR they might see what a great complex it is and snap up some points for themselves!!
What a great marketing coup for Disney and, to think, it would never have come about if they had taken a cab.

I think they are winding you up here, but seriously we know exactly how you feel SSR is our home resort and we see this all the time, its worse at park closing time, I think if the line is more than a bus full you should have to show your room pass, sorry but why should people who pay dues at a resort have to wait when people who only want to get to DTD go first.

No, I realise that but it looks as though the SSR transport police are on your case!
Revert to plan B, leave at the International Gateway but walk through to the front of the BWV and get the DTD bus from there. As that is the last stop it should go straight there.
Watch out for SSR people who are too tired to walk all the way to the front of Epcot so they get our bus to DTD and walk through!!
