Quickest way from Epcot to MGM

We're doing the new princess breakfast at Epcot on our day we had originally scheduled MGM. What would be the best way to get to MGM after brekfast, boat or bus?

Believe it or not, the quickest way is to walk if you don't mind a bit of a hike. There is a walkway that goes from Boardwalk Villas to MGM. Boardwalk Villas is itself a short walk from Epcot via the International Gate.

Buses generally do not run from park to park. (I've never heard of this happening but I don't know everything.) Taking two buses may take a long time. The boat is notoriously slow, and it makes stops at Boardwalk, Beach Club, and Dolphin before going to MGM.

I'd say leave the International Gate, and if you don't see a boat heading your way, start walking. Time depends on your walking style, but based on other people's comments I'd guess 20-30 minutes, maybe 15 for a serious hiker. The boat is likely to take 20-30 minutes even after it arrives.

Of course a car would be faster, but not enormously faster as you still have to get from Norway back your car, then into MGM from its parking lot.

Actually, last year we took a direct bus from MGM to AK. I don't remember if any other options were available, I just remember that there was a cheerleading competition at MGM, and as soon as we arrived, we wanted to be somewhere else.

So, you may be able to take a direct transport.

Park hopper passes allow park hopping and Disney buses are an excellent way to get around from park to park. Heck - Mom and I did 4 parks in one day, just to see if we could, and we used the buses exclusively for that little experiment.

The walk from Norway to MGM would be extensive. It takes 12 minutes to walk from the far Boardwalk pool exit to the MGM gate, and around 10 minutes from Norway to International Gateway. Another 10 (at least) from gateway to Boardwalk pool. So walking will take you a good half hour or more, and that's if you're speedy. Maybe 40 minutes if you're not speedy. But, if you're up for a leisurely stroll, maybe it would be doable.

But to save your legs, buses or water taxi would be a good bet in my opinion.

There are direct buses from MGM, AK and EPCOT. The MK buses are not direct (have to take a monorail to ferry to TTC). If you're up to it walking is probably faster (may have to wait 20 minutes for boat or bus) but the water taxi is more relaxing.

I am not sure where the Princess Breakfast is inside Epcot, but the following applies from gate areas:

1. Walk from Epcot to MGM via International Gateway exit (from gate to gate is about 25 to 30 minutes.

2. Take boat at International Gateway to MGM which also stops at Epcot resorts (BW, YC/BC, and Swan/Dolphin in that order): gate to gate about 30 minutes not including wait time.

3. Walk from International Gateway exit to Swan/Dolphin boat dock (10 minutes) and catch boat to MGM from there (8 minutes not including wait time).

4. Exit the front of Epcot and take bus from Epcot to MGM (there is one); from gate to gate about 15 minutes not including wait time.

Wow, it seems that we'll have several options. If we decide on boat or bus, is it quicker to walk out to the front entrance or back to the International Gateway? It almost looks equal distance on the Epcot map I have. Thanks for all the help:D

Take the wait times into consideration! If you miss a boat, the next one may not be for another 20 minutes. My DH and one of my DD's use to walk to MGM (from the YC), while myself and other DD would take the boat. DH always got there faster than us, but we were just trying to save our feet!

I would say walk from Norway, which is where the new breakfast is located, to the International Gateway entrance/exit and then from there you can grab the "slow" boat to MGM or just walk over to MGM.
