Quickest/Cheapest way to get there

Hi guys!

I have two days off together in a couple of weeks, and thought I might see if I can make the most of it and do a quick trip to Disneyland Paris. Although having had a quick look at flights and trains, it all seems pretty expensive (and reminds me why I usually go to Florida!) Does anyone have an tips on doing it cheaply?
I am planning on traveling on a Tuesday and coming back the next day, and I do not need park tickets. I just need a way to get me from London to DLP and cheaply!

Your easiest way would be Eurostar but I guess all the cheaper seats will have gone by now. It might be worth pricing up travelling indirect - Eurostar to Lille then TGV to DLP, or Eurostar to Paris then RER to DLP. Actually, thinking about it, I don't think there is a direct Eurostar to DLP on Tuesdays until the summer holidays start. I gather you've checked out flight prices? I guess it's the same thing, the cheap seats will have all gone.

I agree with Ware Bears, there is not a direct service on Tuesdays until the holidays.

However just had a look at Tueday 5th July and there are still £49 tickets left when leaving London after 10.30 with just 1 change

This would be the easiest way by far for you to get to DLP but won't get you there till much later in the day im afraid, maybe on your actual date there are some left?

Thinking about it you are never going to want to get to DLP that late, looking into other options (using tuesday 5th July as the date )

The best and cheapest way for you to get there would to be to buy a return to lille (at £49 at the moment) and then get a ticket from lille to dlp (marnee le vallee) on the RER

this would be the best way that i can see for you, leaving early in the morning but there are options for you only slightly more expensive.

i have done this before and it worked out fine and only had to wait at lille for 10 minutes, the trains come regularly through there

I've always wondered with super-cheap airlines like Easyjet and Ryanair why more people don't fly. I know that the trains are comfortable and efficient but I've priced it out and flying is quicker and many times cheaper.

it depends where you're starting off I guess - if you live near the Eurostar stations in London or Kent, and can get a good price on Eurostar, that would be quicker and possibly cheaper (as it takes you straight to the gates of DLP).

I fly, because I'm nowhere near the Eurostar, but have good commuter flights fairly locally to and from CDG, and it is quicker and cheaper to fly to CDG and transfer to DLP from my home, over getting down to London/Kent and getting the Eurostar.
I did compare it for last trip, and door-to-door I was a little quicker, and over £100 cheaper, flying with Easyjet including all transfers. This was for one adult and 2 children.

Ryanair goes to Beauvais so that would rule it out for a lot of people as you'd have no choice than to pay a private shuttle to the park

For any lowcost you'd have to pay for all luggage, check in even online etc then you'd have the cost of your journey from home to the airport, the waiting around and if they cancel a flight a (very) long wait depending on the rotation for another one.

In the end it can work out dearer and longer than the train

Keep in mind I'm American and rail travel in the states isn't all that great so I'm not used to taking the train any great distance. Last time I went between London and Paris I flew but next time I plan to take the Eurostar but it is really the novelty more than efficiency. I'd just like to be able to say I've taken the Chunnel at least once.

We were lucky to get flights home from our last trip at €16 euros each but by the time the taxes had been added on then we had to pay for luggage, seat allocation and the fee for paying by credit card it soon mounted up and didn't seem so much of a bargain anymore.

Let me say that it really is the nicest of ways to travel to DLP, so much more civilised than on a plane. If I ever win the lottery I'm booking a passage on the Orient Express!
