I've downloaded a Quicken trial tonight. I've tried MS Money and just haven't been satisfied with it.
Here's my problem. I have an ING account and a checking account with a different bank. When I set up Quicken, it downloaded the history for both. When I went in to categorize the transactions in the history of each to Transfer to from checking/ING, it duplicated that amount in the other register. We transfer $125/week from checking to ING, but now Quicken thinks we transfer $125 twice a week, so the balances are off for both.
In MS Money, you could "reconcile" two transactions and combine them into one. It would even recognize them for you. Quicken has some sort of "reconcile" function, but it apparently means something completely different, though I can't figure out what the term means to Quicken.
Another question is how can get it to always assign an appropriate category for certain payees?
TIA
