1. The details all over the place are amazing so take some time to notice them.
I definitly agree! Everytime we are in the park I see something I have never seen before. Also, seeing all the photos from other Disers gives us new stuff to look for each time.
2. The afternoon rest you think you don't need? You do!
AMEN! No better way to rejuvenate!
3. Mole Skin is wonderful!
Another AMEN! The only thing I have found that works even better is wearing
CROCS so you don't get nasty old blisters in the first place.
11. Eating in the park isn't really that expensive compared to outside restruants.
We have noticed this as well. I think the Denney's on Harbor has got to be the most expensive one we have ever eaten at! Still, it hasn't stopped us from eating there. When we are on vacation we tend to focus more on eating what's nearby more than saving money.
12. The fireworks are incredible.... Again if you don't like huge crowds hang in the back where it will be easier to make an escape. It amazed me how crowded Main St got for the fireworks.
One of our favorite things to do is stay in the very back of the park until the fireworks are over. The majority of the crowds head home and you get to enjoy the park nearly empty. It is a very cool feeling walking to the front of the park when it's dark. Just almost like having the park all to yourselves.
13. People say
Disneyland is the happiest place on earth and I really wondered (ok I was skeptical) how different can it really be? I had actively desired to go for about a year and a half before we did and really thought I might be disappointed a little because how can it be different just by walking in?? I'm not sure how but it is.... My husband smiled and and laughed more in the 4 days that we were there than he probably has in the past 6 months.
It is truly hard to put into words that special feeling you get when you enter the park. Some people, sadly I guess, never "get it". I am so glad that I do! My DH, too, is like a whole new person when he is in the park. Too bad I can't bottle that feeling and take it home to use when I really need it!
As for DCA:
- I agree that the park is so spread out that I almost dread having to walk all the way to the back of the park. I think while they are doing the rehab and are adding the red street cars to the Hollywood Backlot area, they should think about running some rails back to the Paradise Pier area too.
- Soarin is #1 on our to-do-list in DCA.
Thanks for sharing your insight. This whole thread has been a good one!
