Hi

We're on the Quick Service Dining Plan for a couple of weeks in September. Not being very adventurous, the options of Burgers / Hot Dogs / Chicken Nuggets / Breakfast Platters tend to be "my kind of food". Nevertheless some variety would not go amiss. So I would be grateful if anyone has any tips or suggestions.

For example the Riverside Mill has a carving station in the evening (handy since we are at POFQ) but any other suggestions would be helpful.

Cheers

One of the things we did with our children to encourage them to try different things was that when we were in Epcot we bought one combo meal to divide among the 4 of us at 3 different countries. It was acutally fun for us.

We had bratwurst with saurkraut and a giant pretzel in Germany. Tempura shrimp, shogun beef, teriyaki chicken and ginger cake in Japan. Tabuleh, lamb, chicken, hummus and couscous in Morroco and desserts in France. It allowed all of us to try 1 or more bites of something we might not otherwise try. The kids found out they liked saurkraut, ginger cake and lamb quite a bit.

We also like El Perita in MK for its taco salads and tacos. You get to make your own from the toppings bar so you control how much or how little of the toppings you like.

Hope this helps some. :)

Epcot has the best variety of QS IMHO. Try Sunshine Seasons at The Land, it has a great variety and is very good. Most of the World Showcase QS are very good, my favorite is Yorkshire County Fish Shop in UK, great fish and proper chips!

Here are our favorite Counter Service restaurants.

MAGIC KINGDOM

Columbia Harbour House - tuna sandiwich is a good alternative to standard burgers and pizza.

EPCOT

Sunshine Seasons - great variety of food (including Chinese), and awesome desserts.

Tangerine Cafe - you might not like it, but it's one of my favorites. The food is awesome, and definitely not over-spiced.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Flame Tree BBQ - the ribs and sandwiches are to die for. Nice alternative.

DOWNTOWN DISNEY

Wolfgang Puck Express - the choices are endless and all the food is unbelieveable. The dessert is amazing too!

RESORTS

Captain Cook's (Polynesian) - chicken lo mein is pretty good.

Also, aren't you going during the Free Dining period??? With the plan offered, you are eligible for one Table Service, one Counter Service, and one Snack per night of stay.

In Epcot, the Sunshine Seasons has great selection of food. And another one we like when you get tired of hamburgers...is Yakitori House.
In Mk, Columbia Harbour House - great tuna sandwich.Cosmic Ray's Starlight - 1/2 Chicken and BBQ Rib Combination served with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable.

We try not to eat burgers and chicken nuggets at WDW...here are our favorite CS places

MK - CHH, the tuna and BLT chicken salad are the best!
Cosmic Rays, awesome soups and caesar salad

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons has a killer veggie cuban sandwich
Lotus Blossom Cafe has delish shrimp fried rice
Tangeriene Cafe, chicken schwarma platter rocks!

DTD - WPE has the best food around

AK - Flame Tree BBQ, great sandwiches

POLY - Chicken Lo Mein or BBQ Pork sandwich, yum!

POFQ - The best taco salad and the muffelleta sandwich, awesome! DH loves the biscuits and gravy for breakfast

You are at the best resort for QS. The turkey dinner was one of my favorite meals all week! The pasta was great and the muffalattes excellent.
