Quick Service Dining Plan - A Review & Pictures - 14 Days in August 2011

You can also get a full sized Mickey waffle as well. My kids got this later in the week.

Pecos Bill - Frontierland - MK

Our lunch here was very crazy & busy. We made the "rookie" mistake of eating lunch at 12:30pm when everyone else was also eating. Pecos was so busy that people were eating off their trays either standing, leaning on the garbage cans, or sitting on the floor. It was a madhouse. We did manage to get a seat though & had a quick lunch & then got out of there.

I got the angus cheeseburger with bacon, onion rings, and barbeque sauce, & french fries. By the time we did get a seat this was cold but very tasty.

Here it is with the cheese sauce on my fries.

Carrot cake for dessert.

My DH didn't care for anything on the menu at Pecos so he went over to Tortuga Tavern & got a burritto with just rice & beans. He said it was very good.

My kids all got plain burgers which they said were good.

Subbing. Love the pictures and reviews!

Starring Rolls cupcakes look AMAZING!!

I was curious though... I thought La Cantina wasn't a part of the Dining Plan. Is it?

Electric Umbrella - Epcot

My DH & I like the food in world showcase but the kids were asking for chicken nuggets so we ate at EU.

My DH got the Greek Salad with feta cheese, olives, red onions, tomato and cucumber .

Hi! :)

Yes the counter service Cantina does except the QSDP. We used 6 CS credits (1 as an appetizer). It would have cost $108 if we paid cash.

I really want to try that deluxe cheeseburger with the onion rings at Pecos Bill's, but the horror stories of nowhere to sit make me think maybe we should take the monorail over to the Contemporary or the Poly instead.

I'm also always amused by the pictures from Pecos Bill's--it looks like they use tiny, dessert-sized plates for their meals. Did you have problems with food falling on the table?

Between onion rings on the burger and sauteed mushrooms at the toppings bar (or so I've heard) we may try it anyway and hope for the best. Any idea if dinner time would be less crowded than lunch time?

The food always seem to fall off the plate onto the tray no matter which CS you go to. Dinner at CS during the time we were there was pretty crowded in the parks. Going to a resort for some down time for dinner worked for us much better.

We went over to Norway for dinner that night. Here's another location I would have passed up for a full dinner if not for the DISboard. We have always gotten a snack here but never a whole meal. This was hands down one of the most delicious meals we had.

Three of got the Norwegian Club Sandwich - turkey, ham, and bacon. So good! :thumbsup2 My youngest DD got the ham & apple sandwich which she enjoyed as well.

My DH got the Potato, Goat Cheese & Vegetable Tort . He dug into this so fast I would not get a picture. He said it was the best thing he had during the trip. It was savory & full of flavor.

Our meals also came with a side or soup, salad, or fruit. The boys had soup & the girls got fruit. The soup was a potato cream. I liked the fruit which was unlike the usual fruit cups at Disney as it had pineapples in it as well as melon & grapes. Yum!

Rice Cream for dessert - I have always liked this but this time the rice seemed really undercooked & alittle too hard to be creamy.

DH got the cream & fruit pastry.

This meal was great. Be warned though, there were squirrels that climb right onto the table where we were eating. They crawled right up to us without fear. I guess they knew they would be fed & were determined to freak my youngest DD out (yes that was her screaming ) until they got some food. We gave one a peice of bread & the little thing held it in his paws & sat next to us on the little stone wall as he munched away.

We used some snack credits that night as we walked around world showcase.

Germany - Chocolate cookie OMG I loved this!!!

Mmm love the Karamelle Kuche snacks - can't wait to visit that place!!!

That's a shame about the squirrels - think I would be screaming as loud as your DD! :lmao:

This little guy was too funny on our last trip he found popcorn in my DS's stroller and he wasn't shy that is was for him

Yep, that was our guy! ;)

That is just too cute & too funny! Thanks for posting that picture!
I was really surprised at how brazen he was. No amount of "shoo-shooing" him would work..He was waiting to be paid off! :rotfl:

:rotfl: I guess wild animals in WDW are well fed!!! I never had a meal in Norway CS and I guess it's something to add to my growing list of things to do at Disney. :rolleyes1

Just starting to read your DTR. Thank you for all the great pictures. I love seeing pictures of the food in DTR. My family finds it funny I take pix of our food but they are now used to it.;)

Just caught up and I wanted to let you know that it's almost 1 p.m. here and I'm waiting for my DM and Dsis to go to lunch. Probably reading your thread with your great food pix was a bad idea! ;) My stomache is so growling right now!

I discovered Kringla last year for lunch. Such a great option and overlooked by many. My DD wanted Mexican so I grabbed my tray and joined them over at the new seating at La Cantina. Wonderful spot to eat-especially when the fans are on. :cloud9:

I didn't realize Pizza Planet had a meatball sub. We haven't eaten here in years (like the pizza enough, just don't seem to be there at meal time) but if DD11 finds out about the meatball sub she'll want to go there. If not I guess she could get the one at EU.

Can't wait to read, and drool over, more....

Enjoying the reviews :goodvibes

The squirrel pics reminded me of a 'did that just happen moment' on our 2009 trip.

We were walking through an empty Epcot with a few other people for our 8am adr at Akershus. Suddenly a large bird swept down and caught a squirrel and flew off with it. Myself and DH were  as was the Dad of the other family. Luckily none of the kids noticed.

So yes ALL animals at Epcot are well fed one way or another.

Thanks for reading along & the posts everyone. :goodvibes

I always read the food reviews when I am hungry..never a good idea! :rotfl:

Ok to more reviews...

The kids really wanted to ride EE again so we decided to go to AK.

Lunch was at Pizzafari in Africa. We have always liked this place. The decor is happy and colorful and the interior is large and air conditioned. Day 1 at AK was pouring so it was cool but this 2nd day at AK was a scorcher!

My kids all got the cheese pizzas. DH & I ordered the veggie pizza. All came with side caesar salads. Drinks were bottled waters & diet cokes.

The dessert choices were chocolate mousse & strawberry parfait.

Everyone liked their desserts. The mousse was heavenly!!!!!:littleangel: This is a great choice for AK to get out of the heat. Since we got there early for lunch we had a whole room to ourselves & that's a nice bonus in the crowds if summer.
