Quick question about rides staying open during shows.

I posted this in the other part of the board and for some reason got some really nasty answers like people were shouting and moaning at me for asking (rude!) so I thought I would post it in here. :sad2:

It was just a really simple question: when Illuminations, Fantasmic or M.S.E.P are on, do the rides stay open or does the whole park shut down? In other words, can we still ride things while the evening shows are on instead of watching them?

Thanks.

Yes you can. I remember once riding Splash Mountain while Spectromagic was on. The views of the parade from the height were spectacular. We've booked a FP+ for Splash Mountain this year while the Main Street Electrical Parade is on again. Rides are generally quite a lot quieter while big parades, fireworks or shows are on.

Thanks for your help. This is what I thought. When I posted in the other part of the forum, people were telling me you couldn't and that as long as you were in the line before it closed you could still ride and I was thinking, this isn't what I asked...! :confused3

I only ask as we aren't really bothered about seeing the parades and shows this time so thought we would make the most of the rides being a bit quieter while people were watching the parades etc.

You can ride as long as the park is open. In the case of Epcot, Illuminations starts as the park officially closes so you would need to be in line before then (9.00 pm) unless there are evening EMH's.

Ah, that might have been what the other people meant but they didn't explain it very well. Thanks :thumbsup2

Hollywood studio also officially closes 30 minutes before Fantasmic! (when there is only one showing of F!)

@OP : look at the parks official closing time, that's the time when they no longer allow guests to enter the queues.

The policy is : as long as you're in line before park closing, you get to ride the attractions you're waiting in line for

so if the park closes at 9pm, as long as you get in line by 8:59pm, you will ride that attraction.
