quick getaway trip in the northeast? budget friendly

Hi there...looking for a quick (and inexpensive) getaway for family (3 days/2 nights). We live in South Jersey and are looking for a good family long weekend. My boys really aren't beach people so need to have a pool and other activities. We have done Williamsburg and Wash. DC recently so any other suggestions?

Would like to keep the drive under 3 hours. We looked at some of the pocono resorts (Split Rock & Fernwood) but the reviews weren't so nice.

Mystic, CT? there's the aquarium and the seaport. Close by there is a naval sub(Groton, I think)

Oh, how could I forget Hershey? We love Hershey. You could stay in Lancaster and do Dutch Wonderland and Amish Country also. We also like Indian Echoes caverns right by Hersheypark.

Camping is also a great budget friendly trip...and it doesn't matter how far from home it is!

Hershey and/or Lancaster are nice trips, and can be done within a budget. You wouldn't be staying in a Hershey Resort, but nearby Harrisburg has some nice places with better rates. We have also enjoyed Longwood Gardens in Pa, but that would really depend on the personalities of your kids. Tripadvisor is a great site to look at for hotel reviews as well as activities.
