I saw all of the new Kisses at Target this morning. I bought the candy cane Kisses and they are yummy!

Were you at the Seigen Lane Target?! Because I bought some CC Kisses from there this morning as well! Haven't been able to find them anywhere else.

Question----for the choc. covered stuff---I bought Ghiradelli choc. in this big box. You just break of hunks and micro it. The problem we had was after dipping the item in the choc....it was hard to dip it in the sprinkles and stuff because the choc. was dripping and all. Any expert advice out there to make this easier??? This was the first time I attempted to make choc. covered anything! They're still good though.
Thanks!!!

I've been using the Ghirardelli candy chocolate too! I got several huge blocks of it at Sam's.

I noticed that the white chocolate especially tended to be a bit runny so I started letting it sit for a few minutes to cool off and thicken up before I dipped things into it. That seemed to work a lot better

snoopygirl, try microwaving on less power so the chocolate is less runny. Just melted chocolate has more shape and then you can dip into the sprinkles and they will stick.

No, I was at Millerville.

Darn! I wish I knew you were going ;) . They had a purse there I wanted, but I was in a hurry and couldn't get it.

These rock! They are so tasty. It makes plenty to share

INGREDIENTS:
1 (11 ounce) package NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Butterscotch Flavored Morsels
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
2 (5 ounce) cans chow mein noodles
3 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
LINE baking sheets or trays with waxed paper.
MICROWAVE morsels in large, microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70 percent) power for 1 minute; stir.
Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in peanut butter until well-blended.
Add chow mein noodles and marshmallows; toss until coated.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

DOUBLE BOILER METHOD: MELT morsels over hot (not boiling) water; stir until smooth. Remove from heat; stir in peanut butter. Transfer to large bowl. Add chow mein noodles and marshmallows; proceed as above.

Hi! Just wanted to say that I made these tonight! Wow are they awesome! :woohoo:

I have never made anything quite like these. I was leary of the chow mein noodles..but the recipe is heavenly.

I used the microwave directions...SO easy! I stuck them in the fridge & they hardened up great.

Thanks, I have enjoyed this thread so much! :sunny:

ETA: These are called BUTTERSCOTCH HAYSTACKS

How early can you make the chocolate covered treats/ like popcorn, pretzels and cookies (even the chips)?? If you don't eat them will they be okay for Christmas or get mushy, etc.

I believe it is just crushed oreos stirred into some melted almond bark or any white melting chocolate, then poured onto a foil lined cookie sheet. Let cool then break into pieces.
Good luck

I made this the other night - yummy  I just took the Wiltons Wafers - white chocolate melted - poured onto wax/parchment paper lined cookie sheet and spread/sprinkled the crushed oreos on top of them - when I tried to mix it into the chocolate the oreas were running and changing the color of the chocolate due to fine crumbs so I just sprinkled on top of the melted chocolate and used a spatula to press them into it.

I made these tonight too. They are in the fridge now. Thanks for giving me the name of the cookies, because I'm taking them to work tomorrow and I didn't know what they were called. Do you think they will transport okay? Will they stay together? I was leary when I saw the concoction, but I'm encouraged by your review.

Wish me luck

Im going to start my baking tomorrow and one of the treat is the peppermint bark -

now is the almond bark the same or close to white chocolate--I know people in different parts of the country call things by differnet names.

heres a good example--

has anyone heard of a bubbler?!!!!

in most parts of the country its called a drinking fountain

you should see the funny looks we get as we travel and ask where the bubbler is? :rotfl2:

I used the Wiltons melting wafers - white chocolate ones to make the peppermint bark.

And yes I to know what a bubbler is ;) A water fountain is one of those things in the middle of the world showcase that spits water in the air, not something you drink out of in this neck of the woods :thumbsup2 I like the all the names for soda, tonic, pop, cola, etc.

Only everyone here would understand my excitement!!

At a gift exchange last night my son brought home a bag of oreo's!! He was just going to eat them :scared1: plain out of the package!!
I had to explain to him how I could make them sooooo much better with the recipes on here!! The only issue is they are double stuffed. What do you all think I should make with these???!!! :goodvibes :confused3 :teeth:

If I'm remembering correctly, I made the popcorn 3 or 4 days ahead. I don't
recommend this for the chips.

Dip them!! :thumbsup2 I've got to take some pictures - but I used the chocolate filled Oreos, dipped about halfway in chocolate, then sprinkled 4 mini M&M's on top, let set for a minute. Then followed up with some white chocolate drizzles on top of it all. They look really neat! Quick & easy too, which is a big plus for me this time of year.
