I was just wondering if anyone knew why CA is only open till 9pm Friday and Saturday. But open till 10pm Sunday nights?

This was something I was thinking about yesterday at DL.

Because they want to make sure that those who go on Sunday know the sheer awesomeness of DCA? They want them to experience Screamin' at night?

I don't know, really. But I love DCA and don't mind them being open later whatever day they want to be open later, um, on. :)

And did you hear it in your head as though Jack Black from Kung Fu Panda was saying it? Because that's how I heard it.

Then again, I have an almost 5 year old who is CRAZY for Kung Fu Panda right now, so just about *everything* sounds like Jack Black...:scared:

I hope glendalais or albort shows up to enlighten us for real!

ironically, DCA tends to be a lot busier on Sundays than Saturdays and Fridays. I dont know why.

Lmao, Bumbershoot. You rock! [I too, thought of Jack Black once you said that!] :rotfl:

OP, it was a good question!! :) I also want to know. :)

Because people tend to use their 2fer ticket first at Disneyland and second at DCA.

Also, DCA probably has a greater mix of locals versus tourists, and locals tend to visit on Sundays.

Hhmmmm thanks for all the feedback. Me and my DLGF typically end up going Friday and Saturday most weeks. Maybe I'll try going tomorrow to see how the crowds are.

The reason is actually fairly simple, and a lot of people here already figured it out.

Most Sundays during the non-Peak Season, Disneyland Resort Southern Californian Annual Passports aren't blocked out, and as such we get a large number of Southern Californian Annual Passholders who come to the Resort before the workweek starts.

Compared to Disneyland Park, a larger percentage of the Guests who visit Disney's California Adventure Park are Annual Passholders. As such, when large numbers of Annual Passholders visit the Disneyland Resort, as tends to happen every Sunday like clockwork, Disney's California Adventure Park extends it's operating hours in order to accomodate all of them.

I also think it could be because of Church, since most ppl would be in church until 12:00PM and then head to Disney afterwords.

Just a guess. :)

A good hypothetical, and possible, but it is also the year 2009. I do definitely think that was the case on Easter, though. I was at DL on Easter and it was empty until around 1PM.

I just hope that by the time all the building is done in DCA they will keep it open longer. I always hate that it closes so early. :sad1:

I guess I've gone on the wrong "Sunday's" during off peak seasons. Because the times we've made it on a Sunday DCA is totally dead.

When we were eating at Award Weiners on Saturday night (man, that lobster salad sandwich was goooooooooooood!!!!!) I overheard a lead talking to someone and saying that everyone leaves early Saturday night to go watch the fireworks so DCA empties out because people just stay in DL after that or they leave. I wish DCA was open later, we love being there, especially at night when it's dark and quiet. :)

Sunburned nose and it was an hour wait for Playhouse Disney, Soaring was packed, and the park was packed. People are there for the free booze and food which means 3+ hours for the Robert Irvine show and could go up to 4 hours for shows like Guy Fieri.
