Quick Annual Pass Question

I just want to make 100% sure before I hit the button: When I order an annual pass via the DVC member site, I'm getting a voucher, not the pass itself, right? I'm not going to be going to WDW until February, and I just want to make sure that if I buy the pass today, it doesn't become valid until I go there in February. There's no sense in me buying it now if my year starts counting down right away.

It is a voucher, it isn't active until you've gotten it activated when you get there!

These annual passes are a good deal. If all goes as planned, the next time I'll be at WDW is Feb. 12, 2006. For the one-year period starting on that day, my plans are for me to be spending a total of eight days at WDW. Even with only being there for eight days, I'm saving a little bit more than $100 by getting the DVC annual pass as opposed to buying the regular tickets for all those days. (So if I had been buying the annual pass at the regular price, it seems like eight days is the break-even point.)

Vouchers do not have expiration dates. You can hold them indefinitely.

Thank you so much for mentioning that. When I go in February, I'll be alone, and my plan was to do a few things I wouldn't normally do when I'm there with others, such as go on a tour or two.

DVC and AAA members get the same 15% discount as Annual Passholders. If you're a Disney Visa cardholder, I think there is currently a special price of 20% off on tours, but I'm not sure when it ends.

For what it's worth, last time we did a tour the CM booking asked if we were DVC, AP or AAA, and applied the appropriate discount simply based upon our response. No actual ID numbers were exchanged. Charges for tours are processed immediately, and we paid the discounted price.

I just received my "Mickey Monitor" yesterday, and I noticed they had blackout dates listed.

I was not aware that there were blackout dates on the AP. It looks like in 06, pretty much the entire summer, and the holidays.

We don't usually go during any of those times, but I had no idea there were blackout dates with the AP! Am I a dope?!? (If I am, you can tell me nicely!)

Disney Dining Experience. If you have an annual pass you may purchase this card and rec'v 20% discount on food & drinks at select places, whereas DVC members get 10%? on food only. Cost is $60.00. There are six of us, so I think this will pay for itself real fast.

I was going to purchase my annual pass yesterday. However, the Web site kept telling me that the ticket I wanted wasn't currently available and to try again in a few minutes. After about five tries, I gave up. I guess something was wrong with the Web site.

I'm still going to buy the annual pass. However, I realized that I don't need to buy it right this second. Has Disney said how long the current price is good for? I'd want to buy it closer to my trip in February, but I also definitely want to buy it before the price goes up.
