Hello all,

I am trying to plan this vacation with SUCH short notice and I am starting to get panic-ish!!

So I have like a million questions....and Im looking for tips if anyone can help!

So here is my deal

I am trying to book this WDW vacation from Nov 18-30...
(as a Canadian I went and booked my holidays not thinking about American Thanksgiving...ooops)

I realize I need to reserve like NOW in order to get rooms (we are hoping to stay at the all star music resort (all we can afford)

I work for WestJet airlines but becasue of Thanksgiving I believe they have airline deals blacked out during that time...

do you think on could combine different reservations in order to get my airline deal some nights and pay regular price some nights??

How would that work with a dining plan??? becasue we were hoping to use the dining plan...

My other question involves add-ons...

this reservation is going in under 45 days....so I need to pay in one go...but I am a student and my student mastercard has a $1000 limit.....I went ahead and put $3000 onto the credit card thinking it would change my limit...but no avail....I cannot charge more than $1000 at one time....and it takes like two days to process charges and then realize I still have money on the card and then set my limit back at 1000....sooooooo

I was thinking is there a way to book part of the vacation..(under $1000 worth) wait for my credit card to refill....then add on some things....wait for it to refill and then add on the rest of my vacation and pay it off.......(I want all star resort...10 day park hopper...and dining plan.....) Do you think they will charge me extra if I try to add to my vacation? Or only if I try to remove stuff from my reservation?! They told me I would not be able to add travel insurance after my initial booking (I dint think I need travel insurance anyways since I am medically covered for travel by work...) but does it work the same fro other stuff...will they let me add on days and/or tickets and/or dining plan?

Wow I think that all may be VERY confusing...I hope it makes sense!

Thanks for your time and help!!!!!:yay:

I REAAAALLLLLLYYYY want to go to DisneyWOrld!!!!!!!!:cool1:

We had the same issue last year. We wanted to book, but had to wait for my hubby's bonus check to clear. Call WDW Travel and explain the situation, they may be able to work with you. We were booking on a Sunday to leave on Tuesday (the check cleared Monday) and they let us put half down on Sunday and the balance on Monday.

Are you saying that you have nothing booked at all? If that is the case, then you probably won't get a room for that time period. I have been trying to help a family friend and she couldn't get anything except a DVC resort (which she can afford), all she could find were a few value rooms on Orbitz.com and one of the other travel sites.

I don't really understand what you are asking for the rest of your questions. I don't fly, so can't answer about that. in order to use dining, everyone in the room must be on the same package and it must be booked before you travel, I don't know if you can add it on, but you probably can as long as you have a 1 day base ticket for each person in your party.

I will be glad to help with anything else I can.

Happy Thanksgiving (Canada)

Okay....I really don't know what you're asking for on the flights, so I can't help you there...if you're a little bit more specific, maybe i can give you a solution. As for the rest...

Yes, if you are within 45 days you have to pay it all in one go....now the trick with add on's and upgrading, as long as the add on's INCREASE the price, there is no alteration fee. So if you book the hotel package with the MYW 1 day park hopper, and your card refills, you can upgrade to however may day tickets, add on dining and whatever extras you want to add and then pay at the time of the upgrade. That's not a problem. But as long as you're within 45 days, the whole thing needs to be paid and unfortunately Disney wouldn't be able to do a check within that time frame or do a payment plan. Adding on afterwards is the only way to go around this.

Now if i can get claification to your flights question, then i can give you an answer to that one....

I work for an airline...so on days that arent holidays or overly busy, I can get cheaper rates at the DisneyWorld resorts....so I was wondering if I could combine two reservations ...over Thanksgiving (Nov 18-26) pay full price for a room and then Have a second reservation (Nov 26-30) which I could pay less with my airline discount.....

and combine them....

OR will they let me add on DAYS for free? so If I book Nov 18-26 now...and then when I have the money add the 27-30???

You'll get the answers for your booking questions best over here on the Resorts board.

Moved this there.

Ok....let me make sure I'm understanding. You work for an airline, so you want to get your airline discount on the resorts?

I understand your idea about splitting the reservation becasue the seasons change so you want the lower rate instead of the nightly holiday rate that will be there when you arrive. You can add the dining option onto both dates. There's one problem that you might encounter. Even if you link these two as a chain reservation, there is no guarantee that you would be able to get the same room. So basically, you'd have to check out of the room, then go to reception and check back in. Now with the airline discount, that is done as a room only and the dining plan can not be added. So basically, it's probably going to cause more of a hassle by trying to break it up.

If you book using your airline discount you can't use the dining plan to use it you must book a complete package hotel and tickets. you can however add the dining plan up to I think it is three days prior to arrival.

Also if you have not already made these reservations there is a good chance you won't be able to, AND if you want to eat, you need ADRs and you are not likely to get those either at this point, get on the phone immediately to make your dining reservations and to make your room reservations or you are going to be out of luck.
