Questions Re AKV - Please Help

Happy New Year Everyone!

My Christmas gift this year from DH was Disney points - he rented points from his friend for me and now I am figuring out when and where to use them (we stayed at BWV in 08).

Anyway, I'm thinking of AKV...and have some questions...
Am I correct to assume that "concierge" level rooms also have a Savannah View?
What "extras" do you get with concierge level?
If I book 2 studios, I know I can request them near eachother, but does anyone know if they have connecting studios at AKV that I can request?

Also we're thinking of going the end of May or maybe the end of August.
Anyone have an opinion on what's a better time? Anyone with an opinion on going the week of Memorial Day? Is it very crowded at that time?

And if I book May now, do you think I can get 2 concierge studios? I know it's a bit late. We were first thinking of going in September again, by DS will be starting preschool then and I don't think DH can wait that long to go to Disney again!

Some have a pool view. You may request savanna view, but it is only a request.

None of the WDW DVC studios connect to another studio. The studios are either dedicated (connect to no other room) or they connect to a 1 bedroom so that they can be part of a 2 bedroom unit. Those are called "lock off units".

There are only 5 concierge studios and some of them will be rented as part of a 2 bedroom. Chances of booking concierge anything at the AKV are very small even if you own there and can book at the 11 month mark. It's virtually impossible to get concierge at the 7 month mark.

That said, there have been a few reports of people getting a night or two at the 7 month mark (or even closer to arrival). But I think those are by far the exception. You never know until you try.

Since there are only *up to* 5 concierge studios, there's absolutely zero chance you'd get 2 of them now for May or August. In fact, there's not really any chance of getting 1. Also, 2 of the five face the pool and 3 face the savannah - but all have obstructed views. People should not book concierge if the view is important, or they'll be disappointed.

Your best bet is savannah view (not concierge) - you'll be on the 5th floor, facing a savannah without any obstruction.

Another option for Savanna View is Kidani Village, the new building that will be partially open starting May 1st. At this point Member Services will not guarantee that the pool and restaurant there will be open at that time however. Many of us booked there anyway and are hoping for the best!
