We are not currently DVC owners - but I am somewhat interested in it. We will be going to WDW in a few weeks. What is the best way to learn more about DVC? Do we go to the DVC resort and ask for a tour? Which ones should we tour? How long does it take? Is it high pressured? What is involved on a tour?
Any other info that would help me decide if this is the right choice for my family would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Call 1-800-800-9100 and request the free video and information packet. If you are going to WDW soon, the info may not arrive before you go, but you may also get lucky.

All tours are given at the Preview Center located at the Boardwalk. You can arrange for a tour when you call the above number or call from your WDW resort. They will even pick you up and provide child care if needed. Plan to allow about 90 minutes, but if you are on a tight schedule, let them know and they can tailor the tour to meet your needs. It consists of a brief introductory movie followed by a tour of the room set ups and a computer tour of the resorts sold out and off site.

No pressure to buy and most find the tour fun and informative.

Enjoy!

We went to Boardwalk. DVC has a place there to view model rooms from BCV. We went in July and it was something fun to do since it was raining. Free coffee and lemonade, cookies, candy. :) The DVC guides were very nice and we were not pressured in anyway. Our guide was helpful in answering our questions. It took less then an hour from the time we said, "Hi, we would like to learn more about DVC," to walking out the door with cotton candy in our hands. A guide took us in her office and explained how it works... "You buy into DVC and ... points... use year...etc..." Very low pressure. Actually I didn't feel obligated in any way. We were in the office about 30 minutes then our guide took us to view some rooms that were models of the Beach Club Villas. Then she went to get our DVC book to take home with us. She walked us to the door. We did not buy on the spot. We walked over to BCV to see the area. We waited until we got home a week later and looked at the finances and discussed it for another week. Then we called our guide and said we wanted to join. We put the down payment on our credit card over the phone and she sent the information and papers to sign. Less than a week later received the documents signed them and returned information to DVC. A week later DVC called to tell us they received the documents and ask if we had any questions. Now we are waiting to close which should be around the 23rd.
