Questions on Port Orleans French Quarter

I haven't stayed at POFQ yet but did visit there briefly. It seemed nice and small yet the pool was a decent size.

I also tried to get a room there at the end of April 09 but they didn't have any AP discount rooms left so I ended up staying at POR for my solo trip.

I liked POR. There were 4 quiet pools (I spent part of one afternoon at the one near my room) with laundry near them. I loved the food court and all the meandering paths. The bus stops were fine, there was one 5 minutes from my room and I didn't have any problems with them. The boat to DTD was great. I even took a cab to AKL one evening and Bell Services were professional and prompt with getting me one since none were out front.

I'm going to try for POFQ on my next solo trip but if I end up at POR, I'll be happy with that too.

i just got back from POR riverside and enjoyed the resort much more than when i stayed at cornado springs which seemed so huge! we didnt book a waterview room but when i called to say that my preference was a room close to a main building the man told me that i had not booked that kind of room and therefore was not going to get it. well we got into a corner room in a building close to the main one and that was fine since we hardly spent anytime gazing out the window. we went to the FQ to check out the pool and while it looked cool the slide was a lot smaller and there were tooo many children there. we took the boat over and found it was a 25min walk back to our building from the FQ and we were on the close end of port orleans, so if you intend to resort hop be prepared for the walk. bus stops were sometimes seperate,sometimes combined, it seemed like we went to FQ if we had room on the bus, so the always getting a seat thing may not be true.
