Can anyone give me any information on DCL weddings. We are booked for our second cruise next year...and would like to make it a wedding cruise. Either that or do the wedding at WDW then honeymoon on the cruise. Any ideas or suggestions on where to start would be wonderful.

Oh another HUGE concern in cost....anyone know the min cost of a disney wedding and DCL wedding.

Thanks

Maybe try posting this in the Disney Cruise forum

There's lots of really knowledgable folks over there - Good luck! :bounce:

Hi...on my last cruise we saw a wedding take place at Castaway Cay...they drove the bride and groom to their wedding site on a decorated golf cart and it said "getting married" on the way back it said "just married"!!

I've been over at the cruise site...there is alot of information on the cruises themself...but not on weddings...That's why I figured posting on the wedding and honeymoon site...people would be able to tell me where to start.

Hello there. I am getting married on DCL next week (Oct 9)! I think the Wedding Package is $2,999 plus your room. It includes:

Sail away on a magical voyage and have your Intimate Wedding on Disney's own private island. This majestic package includes:

- Marriage License
- On-Site Wedding Coordinator to assist with wedding ceremony and reception
- Concierge Service on board to assist in booking shore excursions and spa/salon appointments. (The actual excursions and treatments are not included in package.)
- Wedding ceremony on Disney's Private Island, Castaway Cay
- Officiant to perform wedding ceremony
- Solo Musician (pianist) for wedding ceremony
- Choice of fresh flower bouquet for Bride and fresh flower boutonniere for Groom
- Cake and Champagne Reception including an elegant two-tier wedding cake with keepsake cake topper and one bottle of champagne for the toast, served by Host/Hostess
- Dress Steaming
- Special Wedding Gift
- Disney Cruise Line Wedding Certificate
- Champagne toast
- $100.00 Onboard Stateroom Credit (one per stateroom)
*From the Disney Wedding Web Site*

The planning process has been very easy. If you decide you want to have a wedding you need to call their Fairy Tale Weddings Dept and see if your date is still available. There is only one wedding at Castaway Cay but I think there can be multiple weddings onboard the ship.

Search for weddings in the cruise line forum. I know I have read many things there before.

Let me know if you have any questions, as I said I will know all about it in a week.

HebeJebe...Thanks for your responce. Please if you will tell me more about your wedding when you get back...I'm sure you have a ton of things to do from now until you leave to tell me much about the planning itself...but if you could let me know how eveything turns out for the wedding itself.... Like how long dose the actual wedding on the island take?...and what kind of "special gift" is it? What ever you can share would be wonderful.... Thanks again.

I got married on the Disney Wonder on september 3. I was suppossed to be married on Castaway Cay but due to Hurricane Frances we had to get married on board. This could happen too if it is too windy to dock on the island. Disney cruise line I felt was a great wedding. Everyone had fun and it was as stress free as you can get specially considering we had to replan the wedding in less than 24 hours. The staff is wonderful the attention is wonderful and my picture are gorgeous. I wouldnt have done it any other way. If you have any questions pm me. I would be happy to tell you more.

I'm Back! My wedding was a little wet but still wonderful.

The Wedding - the weather was less than perfect and we waited an hour for the go ahead. There is a red carpet, a pianist and chairs for the guests set up. We were married by a Bahamian Officiant who was ferried over that morning. The wedding lasted approximately 10 mins (I think). After the ceremony we then took pictures around the ship. Our reception was in Palo's and the cake was amazing (I got to choose my cake design). Then we took more pictures. Got them all later that night.

The Service - We had Thirry as our concierge. He was exceptional.

The Gifts - the Wedding gift was a red DCL tote bag and 2 bath robes with "Disney Fairy Tale Weddings" embroidered on them with the cruise line logo. We received an Ariel & Eric Wedding Pin that matches the design on the Bahamas DCL Marriage License. Also little food trays once a day. Oh and we received an amazing Animator's Palate print on the last day.

What else would you like to know?

I really would like to see some pictures of any of your castaway cay weddings. Ive been trying to look at the galleries but there is so much to look from. Thank you.

I went to www.allseastravel.com and they offer $1000 off your DCL wedding. If you book from them your wedding starts at 1900. That is so awesome and all of theire cruises are at least 500 less some even more. This will be even a greater point for me when i pitch the price to the guy hehe.

My fiancee and I are having a DCL wedding in February and I could use some advice. Any help on the following questions would be great!

1. We are having ourselves and 14 guests and I think that I should order and additional bottle of champange for the reception. Also, since I don't drink alcohol I want to have sparkling grape juice or cider. How much does that cost?

2. I have the information on the photo packages is videography available?

Thanks.

Did they say anything about you having 14 guests? I was informed the limit was up to 8 guest....and so far were having 10-14 also....So I was just wondering what to expcet with the additional guests.

There is a $10 per person over 8 guests fee. This covers the extra cake and champagne so don't worry about ordering extra.

You will receive paperwork that asks you if you would like additional beverage items available at the reception. We had a Sprite (my brother is only 17) and I don't think they charged us for it. Your concierge will go over all of this with you on board as well.

Videography was not available but I have heard you can ask one of the concierges to film for you.

Any other questions?

Do you know if the $10pp fee includes under age guest? Out of our count of 12 there will be 6 children undrer the age of 11...two of which will be in the cermoney. Anyway...I guess it's only over by 4.

I believe the fee counts for each additional person. You could check with your planner.

Oh, by the way, they charge you for the extra people before the cruise.
