DH is wondering a few things I could not answer. Maybe someone here can help me out.

1) Luggage space is not a problem, the question is, does anyone bring a tri-pod for their camera or camcorder to use on the deck to film the parties or anything?

2) Can you video tape or take pictures of the evening shows as long as the lights (flash) isn't on?

3) How long are the shows each night and how long is the childrens show at the end of the cruise?

4) According to the map, Orlando has a few toll freeways. How do these work and how much do they cost?

I think that was it. Probably not though. Thanks for any response.

We did bring a tripod for our camera because we really hate using the flash and like the low-light effect. We actually never needed it. Got some great still shots at night. I guess the lights were bright enough and the camera was held still.

We took some still druring some of the evening shows. Surprisingly they came out pretty ok, not great, but ok. We did not use a flash for these pictures either.

I think the shows lasted about 45 minutes, but someone else will (hopefully) chime in for us. Can't help you on the childrens show.

And we were trying to forget these darn tolls! I think there were about 4 stops. The typical 'throw the change in' type. They added up to about 4 to 5 dollars. Again, someone will help us on this one also (hopefully).

The children's show was about 30 minutes from when the kids file in on the stage until they leave. It took me another 10 minutes to get DS out of the club to change for dinner. It was SO worth the rush though because he is so proud of himself for going up there & being with Mickey. :smooth: You want to leave CC for the ship by 3 so that you can get your child to the club by 4 for the rehersal. I then ran back to the cabin & got myself ready & helped dress DD while she napped. The show started at 5.

I think that there were 2 toll booths between Orlando & the port. It totaled $2.50-3.00.

I have a vague recollection of DCL requesting no video taping of shows as the shows are obviously copyrighted. I am sure other lines make that announcement, so there is a possibility I am just remembering wrong, but probably not since Disney is so proprietary of their stuff.

DH brings a monopod on the cruise and to WDW. Works great. For things like the deck party etc that he wants to tape he just straps it to a rail and and it just as secure at a tripod, but with a lot less space.

I second the monopod suggestion. I have both, but when traveling just take the monopod.

I asked the tripod question before our first cruise too. Was highly encouraged to not take it. They are bulky. Didn't miss it. Frankly, I got tired of hauling the camcorder around! 2nd cruise we had a handheld digital camera that was probably about twice the size of a deck of cards. We used that a lot more, and didn't bother with a tripod for it either.

The shows start at 6:30 if you have late seating. I think the evening cabaret shows start at 7:45, and we were always able to see the show, then run to the room to change for dinner and still make the cabaret show. Now all we did was change (already showered, etc.) so I'd guess that the absolute longest the show was is an hour. Likely between 45 minutes and an hour depending on the show.

They ask you not to videotape. I've read where people were asked to stop. They will let you video the kids show though.

I think Florida is a big giant tollbooth.

I think the shows are about 45-60 minutes long. You should be fine with the early show as most people choose the early seating for the younger children.
