We were so fortunate to buy 285 points at BWV - we really did NOT want SSR - My kids are still very, very small (with big obsessions) and we learned that SSR does not have sound proofed windows - even on the windows that face the Pleasure Island fireworks, so remember that when booking (!)

Anyway, being new to DVC I have a couple of questions...
Do you get your temporary cards with your closing documents?

When booking at the 11 month window, is it by month or by day - in other words, we would like to do April 27 2005 - do I need to call May 1 2004 or May 27 2004?

can you go to the restaurants in Epcot after the park closes without a ticket? (I read the DVC benefits poll and it reminded me)

One last question - does anybody have recommendations for very quiet rooms at BWV (2br)? My kids go to bed around 7:30!

Thanks!!!

You can call 11 months from the day you check out. No need to call day by day that time of year. You will be going to WDW during a very slow period. Day by day calling is rarely necessary and only ties up the phones for other members trying to call. You may want to call twice if say 3 days of your reservation happens to fall on a Friday and then you can call Monday to get the other two days for example. When Epcot closes it closes for everyone DVC members or not. In the morning you can cut through World Showcase to get to Future World which opens 2 hours or more before World Showcase.

Just curious...where did you hear that SSR does not have soundproof windows? IIRC, there have been several posts/discussions here where folks have been told that there were numerous soundproofing measures taken into consideration with SSR. (I'll see if I can find the posts).

Having said that...I have small kids who normally go to bed at 7 at home as well...but they will certainly be up later than that at WDW! ::yes:: Plus, they sleep through almost anything (especially a 15 minute fireworks show)...so I guess I have no worries. We definitely plan to request a Downtown Disney view. Now with BWV, we would definitely not reserve a Boardwalk view, as the noise from weekenders at the restaurants and clubs can go on for hours. I'd just book a standard view.

Congratulations on your purchase! I know you will enjoy it!
