questions first trip from Ireland

I've been dozens of times to Disney, but this is the first time to plan a trip from Ireland. My son lives there (and I'm visiting right now), and I am trying to book a UK trip with all of us, which the gal on the phone says is fine. She did say that there is a 20 pound charge to deliver the doc's to Ireland. Is that right? Seems like a lot..does everyone pay that? Also, she said I had to pay with a European credit card..I couldn't use mine from the US..she said I can't use my Disney credit card either since it's from the US. Should I try calling again to see if I get a different answer? I can't be the only one booking a trip for family from Europe, that lives in the US.

One more thing, she said in the UK there isn't trip insurance..so do those of you that want it (two babies, possible snow, etc could interupt the trip) get it from Insure my trip?

Not sure who you are planning the trip with, but never had documents, We live in Belfast and i usually book Flights from Dublin usually through London and on to Orlando, or else from Dublin through a US hub,[as flying from dUBLIN RATHER THAN bELFAST IS USUALLY CHEAPER] depending on the cheapest, and then book hotels. Using a Credit Card Visa or Mastercard as American express are not taken by a lot of people here IMHO. Why not price flights for them.
Travel Insurance ,you usually need to book your own, i find the holiday companies to be a bit expensive and usually do an online search for better deals.

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. I'm not booking flights for them, I"m planing a Disney Trip to Disney World..they'll get their own flights. It's a nice deal if booked from Europe for all of us, and he is from Ireland.
It was Disney UK who told meI couldn't use a US credit card to book the trip, and that I had to pay 20 pounds for the Disney documents for the trip to be delivered to his Ireland address (In teh US Disney delivers the docs at no charge). I'm not trying to use American Express, but a Mastercard or Visa..I don't see why it would matter if it was a US card or not.

CANNOT REALLY SEE A PROBLEM USING A US CC CARD, AS YOU WILL BE PAYING THE DIFFERENCE WITH YOUR CARD PROVIDER.
i BOOKED WITH US DISNEY FROM HERE, AND THERE WAS NO CHARGE, AS WE NEVER GOT DOCUMENTS JUST OUR BOOKING RESERVING NUMBER SENT TO OUR EMAIL. WHY NOT TRY AND SEE IF YOU GET A DIFFERENT BOOKING AGENT WHEN YOU PHONE, OR SEND THEM AN EMAIL.

Sorry it's one of Disneys rule the card needs to be registered in Europe. Not heard of the document delivery charge may be because they are outside GB?

Travel insurance is a bit different - because we need medical cover as well as against disruption.

I think I was charged the one time I used the Disney UK site aswell , I always check both Uk and US sites and work out which is the best deal ,
mostly got the best deals from the US site

easist way I see round the credit card is to use your sons card and then pay his bill for him
as for travel insurance we always have annaul travel policy heres a link to the one we use
