Ok, I'm obviously a newbie. LOL I was just wondering if anyone had use the DVC reservations & what your thoughts are. Is it worth using or just go ahead & get res & regular resort. I'm just trying to figure out if there's a lot of frustration involved. It's going to be my first trip in about 12 yrs, dh's & dd's first trip ever so I want it to be as nice as possible. If we don't use the dvc we'll probably go w/a moderate priced resort which is fine too, just wondering which would be the best way to go. Thanks!!

Hello and welcome to the DIS
I can't tell from your post whether or not you're a DVC member. If you are, then I think that you'd do well to use your points (I splurge on a one-bedroom villla). It's so easy! If you're not a DVC member, then you will need to find someone from whom you can rent points. A good source of info for that would be the DVC Rent/Trade area of the board. I don't think that it's too difficult or frustrating, though I've never done it.
The moderate resorts are very nice--we've always liked the POR Riverside before we became DVC members.
In any event, enjoy your vacation! What a thrill it will be for you and dh and dd as you watch them experience WDW for the first time.

No, I'm not a dvc member. That's why I was wondering what goes into renting points from a dvc member. We also wanted the dining plan so I just wasn't sure what all was involved w/renting the points & including the dining plan & everything. LOL To say I'm a little overwhelmed would be an understatement. LOL
