I'm new to this and have a few questions. Our home resort is BCV. How far in advance can I book this? Can I request a certain room number? How far in advance can I book Vero Beach? If we were not visiting the parks, which resort would be better for 2 adults and 2 kids 4 & 10? Which pool is better? I think we will be using some points to book DCL 4 night.

Thanks,
Wendy

We own at BCV too! You can book your home resort which is BCV 11 months in advance. Any other DVC resort you must wait until 7 months to book. You can request a certain room number but the odds are against you actually getting it and if its not available they won't know why you requested that particular room. Most people find its better to request what is important to you in more general terms ie non-smoking, pool view, close to elevator, etc. Since becoming DVC members, we go 2-3 times per year and may only go into the theme parks once or twice per trip. We prefer spending most of our time at Stormalong Bay, which is the themed pool for BCV and Y&BC and our favorite pool. There is an awesome slide, a small but deep lazy river, waterfalls, zero entry sandy area for little ones, whirlpool, waterfalls, and hot tubs.

We just did a 3 night cruise this past May. It was awesome. It's so much fun planning our DVC vacations! Have fun!

Donna:

Thanks for your info. The pool sounds great. If I do book the 4 night DCL, then I would spend 4 or 5 nights at the BCV. Are all the studios the same?

Thanks,
Wendy

Pretty much. The studios at OKW have two queen beds. The studios at BCV, BWV, VWL & SSR hae one queen bed and a sleep sofa. Otherwise, they are all similarly equipped. The OKW studios are a little larger, but the 1 bed/1 sleep sofa arrangement of yhe others make them feel the same or even a little larger.

Best wishes -

Wendy,

At BCV they have some dedicated studios and some lock off studios. Lock off studios can be combined with a one bedroom to make a two bedroom villa. The only difference is a lockoff has a nice mirror with wooden pegs to hang things on near the entryway door and of course, the connecting door to the one bedroom. As Carol said, all BCV studios have the queen bed and full size sleeper sofa.

The questions that you have asked about are all answered in the member handbook that DVC gives to each member. All except the room sizes that is.;)

Just a little more detail on when you can book -- At your home resort it is 11 months or less from your check-out date. If that should happen to fall on a day when MS is closed (Sat, Sun and some holidays) then you have to wait until the next day that they are open. At 7 months or less from a checkout date, you can book any and all DVC resorts.

The pool at BWV may be more elaborate but Vero definetly has the nicer ocean. ;)
