Questions about potential Disney Visa discounts

OK, with our trip coming up in November, we tried to get a Disney Chase Visa, as we got that "Spend $500 in 3 months, get $200 Gift Card", plus the potential discounts and savings at the park and on the trip with it. My credit is pretty shot (though getting better) due to my previous marriage, but my wife's credit is pretty good, so she applied online with an invite they sent us (to my work address for some reason :rotfl: ) and we waited.

Yesterday, we received a letter asking for additional info, which we called in today with, and they approved her right away. :cool1:

Here are my questions:

1) Once we get the card, if they issue any discounts to Visa members for our trip time, can it be applied to our reservation, even though I booked it under my name, and her as the "secondary" on the reservation.

2) Do the discounts only work if you pay for the trip on the Visa, as I have paid a good $3000 of a Wilderness Lodge vacation package via cash and gift cards so far. Should I make a payment with the card when we get it so they have that on the trip's records?

3) Having never had this as an option before, if I can use the discount, how do they work? Do you have to call in and give them the card number, etc?

1) as long as your wife is on the reservation they'll apply a DV discount.

2) you can apply the discount without paying for the full trip on it. They have required a $200 deposit in the past when adding the discount using the card to verify it. They may not in the future.

3) Disney visa discounts need to be called in. Ask for the DV discount and they'll take care of the rest.

Thank you for the info, but now I have a couple of more questions, LOL

2) In my scenario, I have already paid $3000 out of $3770 without using the card. When I get the card, should I make a payment towards the trip with it?

3) I ask Disney Destinations right? I do not call Visa?

Yes, you will call disney (not Disney visa) and just make a $200 payment with the card. Then you can pay the rest however you want.

Once your wife gets her card, create an online account at Chase.com. Click on the "Customer Service" on the far right....then "add authorized user". You can then input your name, etc and a card with your name on it will be sent to your wife's address. She is responsible for any charges made by you (LOL) but the card is in your name.

We did this for my teenage daughters.

I wouldn't put anything on the trip with it before a discount comes out in case they don't require you to.

You just call the main booking line like you would any other time.
