Questions about food....

Ain't nothin'. Vanelopes is replacing the Arrrrcade because they apparently don't make enough money off of video games. The Fantasy hasn't been in a dry dock since they decided they needed a candy and ice cream shop.

Ah I see! I just assumed it already had it - as you can tell I haven't been on the newer ships

No official word yet, but a gap in the schedule in spring (May) 2017 indicates that that's when it will happen.

Oh wow....that means I could have a changed ship by the time we sail next September. How long is the gap? Just wondering what they might change.

They had Vanilla, Chocolate, Banana and Strawberry, recently on the Fantasy. I brought from home a bottle of chocolate syrup (in a Ziploc bag for extra safety), a thing of jimmies and a can of peanuts. Made for great Sundae's. Though I admit that I didn't eat the ice cream as much as I thought I would, but my sons and nieces liked it.

Most likely not a lot. Just a general refurb, more technical than anything. I think the biggest change on the Dream was the addition of Vanellopes ice cream and candy shop. The Magic and Wonder are much older, therefore they got the big refurbs.

For breakfast, the egg stations for the buffet in towards the back, so I go order my eggs or omelet first and get the rest of my food and then go get the omelet. Otherwise you could be half way thru the rest of your food before you get to egg selection.

For the ice cream stations, cups are not there. You need to get them from the drink stations and as stated the hot cups work best. Spoons are not at the ice cream station either. chocolate, vanilla and twist of those is always available. other choices are available, different flavors for different days and ships, I haven't figured out which ship has what? when?

In addition, the Concierge Sun Deck will probably finally get some shade. It's like the surface of the sun out there on a sunny day. The Dream got it when they had their last dry dock.

Just came off the Dream yesterday they had spoons at the soft ice cream but no cups. Everyone was bring them like everyone else said from the drink station.

We had the usual chocolate /vanilla , Banana and Strawberry combo

As it looks now there is an itinerary gap between April 29, 2017 and May 19, 2017. This is longer than the last Dream Dry dock, it probably gives Disney a better cushion when getting all of the suppliers and builders in place.

The Dream also had a lot of the kids spaces reworked and the satellite falls pool was added. For the Fantasy I would expect:
  • Removal of the arcade, addition of the vanellope sweet treats
  • Changes to the concierge sundeck in terms of shade
  • New kids club updates

I'm hopeful that enchanted garden will go away and be replaced with something new. I also have marginal hope that a new stage show will debut, but I don't think it will happen.

Just wondering, why do you want Enchanted Garden to go away? I have only been on the Magic, so no experience with this one, but I think it looks lovely. :flower:A new show would be cool...but I agree...I think it would be a long shot. :rockband:

Tiana's place showed the Disney is willing to put some differentiation into their dining experiences across the ships, unless guest feedback shows a great dislike for Cariocas. So much that Tiana's place is a correction. We can all agree that the main lobby 'Prince and Princess Restaurants' aren't going away, nor would animators palate. So we are left with enchanted garden being the only place that could be re-themed. The Dream just completed dry dock. So the Fantasy is the logical choice.

I'm hopeful because I like to see how Disney creates something new and offers new experiences. Also, enchanted garden is my least favorite main dining room in terms of menu. I have done it 2 times on the Dream and once on the Fantasy. The blossoming flower effects don't always work either. The space is themed very very well, I'd just like to see something new.

I totally understand. Change is good sometimes. I am not always the best at change, but since I have never experienced Enchanted Garden, I suppose that it probably wouldn't be much of a change. My DD and I have been anxious to go there because of the ambiance since the first time we saw it, but I have friends who sailed the Dream in August and they too said that it was their least favorite dining room in terms of both ambiance and menu....so who knows. New can be very exciting as well. Time will tell! Thanks for sharing your opinion. :thanks:

I'd prefer they keep Enchanted Garden and bulldoze Royal Court. Nothing in Royal Court is magical to me, but Enchanted Garden's booths, as well as the continually changing lighting (including the motion chandeliers) is one of our favorite experiences. Of the three, my wife would eat in EG every night if she had her druthers.

No!!! Love Royal Court....EG is just meh...nothing special to me. I love RC/RP and Animator's is cool but VERY loud.

I really do not like Carioca's.....I really miss Parrot Cay!!

I think Enchanted Garden is equally as loud as Animator's. Sure it doesn't have the videos/Crush interaction, but it's a lot of hard surface area, and sound just bounces off that. At least in Royal Court/Palace, there's a lot of soft surfaces that help (a little).

Yes! I love Enchanted Garden!! The Court/Palace doesn't feel all that magical to me - just a fancy dining room. And IMHO the ickiest of the rotational menus. (Though since I am NOT a fan of New Orleans ANYTHING, Tiana's may take over that distinction if I'm ever on the Wonder.)
