Hi,
We booked a category 10 for me, DH, DD-6 and DS-4. This will be our first inside as we have always had a balcony or better. :rolleyes1 I have been on over 30 cruises, but never Disney. I got a smokin' deal :cool1: for January and since its only a 3 night, I figured we didn't need a balcony and could live without. Can you please tell me if it's really cramped and will the 4 of us be tripping over each other?
Also my parents booked the lowest level guarantee, any idea where they may wind up? Thanks so much! :cheer2:

It might feel a bit crowded with four people, but for the price it shouldn't seem bad at all. You won't be in the room much, so don't sweat it! We did a three-peat in a secret porthole room and never felt cramped...we just spent a lot of time in the Rainforest or on the "secret" deck 7 aft verandah.
I will give you the worst case scenario for a Cat. 12 guarantee...once everyone who has requested specific (i.e. non-noisy) Cat. 10 and 9 rooms has been taken care of, they could end up below the nightclubs! But then again, there is a small chance they could go several categories up too.

We were in a cat 8 on our first cruise thanks to a DCL upgrade from an 11, and booked a 10 on our second. The room is actually the exact same size & the set up makes it seem bigger IMO. The big bed is at the back of the stateroom so you don't have to walk around it so that opens up the middle of the room. It was big enough for the four of us on our 7 day.

Is it the same size as an 11? In the 11 the 3 of us were tripping all over each other. I would never ever book an 11 again. I would rather sail every 2 years in a 6 than every year in an 11!

It's bigger than the Cat. 11, and it has the split bath. We've booked one for our upcoming November cruises after we had a Cat. 7 last year (same size room, just a different layout). The verandah was nice, but we enjoyed the split bath more ;) . I guess it's just one of those things that happens to us as we get older!

we have always booked in a cat10 and never had problems with space. We are a family of 4 too. IMHO it is a great value for the money. We had been on 3 crusie and have the 4th booked. I love the split bath and the drawer space and the streamer trunk for putting things in.

We've been a cat 10 twice, and a cat 5 once. The rooms are the same size from 5-10, only difference is location and layout. I agree the cat 10s seem bigger. You enter both types of room with a hallway that has a closet on one side and the doors to the split bathrooms on the other. For the interior rooms (i.e. cat 10), you then open up into the "living" side of the room. There's a small nightstand type thing built into one wall (the same one with the closet). That's where your ice bucket and glasses will be. On the same wall is the couch which converts to a twin bed (a hidden top bunk is recessed into the ceiling above it). On the opposite wall is a built in desk with a mirror above. There's a built in cabinet next to that with a 9" TV, a storage cabinet above that, and a "cool box" below. A curtain separates this area from the "bedroom", which has a queen sized bed (can be split into twins), a nightstand on either side of the bed, and a steamer trunk for storage on the opposite wall.

In the Cat 5-8 rooms, the "sides" of the room are flipped, so that your couch area is by the verandah or the window (they assume you will want to have a view where you sit). This means you have to walk between the end of the bed and the steamer trunk every time you enter those rooms. It makes a difference in how cramped you'll feel.

Anyway, my family of 4 has always had plenty of space, but we don't spend much time in the rooms.

OH, I forgot all about the extra storage space in the category 10s!!! I will actually miss it in the 8 we have booked next cruise. Instead of a single steamer trunk, there is a double steamer trunk at the end of the bed. This is in additional to the same amount of other storage space in the 8 that we stayed in before. That helped us out tremendously!

Hey there Lisa!!!

we did the same - a three night - but inside cabin - I wouldn't worry at all - you're not there much - there's always deck 7 aft deck - (good place to watch the fireworks from pirate party if you're not into the party music, etc.) and in the past we'd always had outside with balcony - so we were concerned to....but now, I think we'd just as well have inside and spend money elsewhere.

Thanks for the replys. It does make me feel better.
Anyone else have info on my parents guarnatee? :rotfl:

Hi Lisa :wave2:
