questions about CP courses

I have questions about the college program courses that are available to take. How many can you take at a time? Do you take them all on the same day? How many hours a day are each of the courses? Are they night courses? Could someone give me an example of what the typical course load would be like in a week? How much homework are we talking about? Is there a cheap way to obtain the books required for the courses and are they necessary? I am trying to decide if I should take the classes as I really don't need or want the credits. Is it worth taking the courses for the contacts/experience that will come for taking them?

Hi thanks for the site info. They sound very interesting and insightful. But if anyone has taken the courses it would be helpful. I would like to know time wise how this inpacts a CP life.

I'm not for sure how the classes go, I was kind of wondering that for myself.
When I was doing my acceptance it stated that I would eligible for 1-4 classes and I know that you have to wear business casual, other than that I'm not really sure, I'm sure you could call your recruiter and ask!

I took Disney Corporate Analysis when I was on my CP. You do need to wear Disney Look business causal to your classes. They usually run about 3-4 hours long I believe and meet once a week for 11 weeks. They recommend that you only take 2 at a time. So if you are advantage you could take 2 in the summer "semester" and 2 in the spring/fall "semester" so a total of 4 classes. I don't know of anyone that took more than 1 so I'm not sure if you would have the classes on the same day. You do have some choice as to what day and time you take the class so it might be possible to have them on the same day, but it just depends on whats available. They don't offer night courses they will either be in the morning (like 8am I think) or early afternoon (11ish). The courses do have some fees associated with them but they aren't very much (10-25 ish) dollars and they take the fee out of your pay check over a series of weeks.

For Corporate Analysis there was hardly any out of class work. We did have some papers and projects but that class isn't very homework intensive. Some of the other courses have more. I know with the Marketing You class you have to do like a resume and some other things so that takes some outside class time and I know for Corporate Communication you have to read out of a textbook. Corporate Analysis didn't have any books you had to buy but you can of course by them or rent them online for cheap (Chegg, Amazon, etc.)

The classwork stuff is really just for ACE classes. The other two types (Professional Development and Exploration Series) to my knowledge do not have homework. I know the Exploration Series meets for less time (1 hour for 8 weeks rather than 2-4 for 11 weeks) This time around I am planning on taking the Exploration Series: Exploring Marketing class to network. I will have already graduated and so will obviously not need the credit or anything but it will be good for interacting with Disney leaders in an area I want to get a PI/FT job in.

Hopefully this was somewhat helpful. :)

thanks for all the information on the CP courses it will help me to make my decision about whether or not to take them easier.

I also have a question about courses... I'm thinking of registering in advance on the website, but the only classes I see available are the ones for Educational credit. I was thinking of taking one of the Exploration series, so do I have to wait until I check in to sign up for it? Or does the fact that they're not showing up mean that they are already full?

Thanks.

The only classes available for the Summer 2 session are the ACE classes. The other ones will be available in the fall semester. Thats why they are not up for online registration yet. I assume you will be able to register online for them when it gets closer to the fall semester which I believe starts in September.
