Ok we just joined :cloud9: and I am getting ready to make our first reservations :thumbsup2 our home resort is SSR, we are hoping to go the first week in Dec the 3rd through the 14th. :wizard: should I book at SSR and then try to move to BWV? Or just wait and go to BWV in the 7 month rental pocket?

Next questions.. My DS who is 5 does not like clowns and did not like the pool pic. since we are going in Dec I am sure we will not be swimming but can you get around BWV without seeing the pool? I have never been there before.

I am considering BWV because it will be and my mom with my 2 sons 3 and 5 without DH :sad2: (used up all his vacation days) I am thinking it has the most transportion options like the boat and bus?

Anyone have another suggestion?

Thanks so much!

At 7 months out, you should be able to get preferred view at BWV, but it wouldn't hurt to have the ressie at SSR as backup if you want. What sort of accomodations are you looking for?

Because the clown pool is in a courtyard you can get around BWV without seeing the pool, but suppose you have nice weather and you do want to go swimming? The nice kiddie area with the water shooting animals is right by the clown slide. I wouldn't pick BWV if my son didn't like or was afraid of clowns, suppose he does see it? I wouldn't want to deal with that on vacation (especially without DH).

I imagine that you would want to go to the MK, and there are villas at BWV that are pretty far from the bus stop. Unless you were going to walk over to Epcot a lot, I would probably pick another resort for this trip. I would pick in order, VWL (maybe most unlikely but I would give it a waitlist shot for the entire trip), OKW, SSR, BCV.

If your son is afraid of clowns, stay at SSR. He will LOVE the Donald Duck water play area and the nice little child friendly slide there. Not sure about SSR, but at OKW, our bus service is wonderful, and I much prefer it to taking the bus from BWV to the MK.

you should book at SSR now and at 7 month you can try to switch. At least you have something all set if you don't get it. The main pool at BWV is behind the building on the right side if you are facing the villas from the Boardwalk and he will not see it when out there. There is also another quiet pool further around the back, that you cannot see the main pool from. You can also consider trying to go to BCV which is across from the BWV and if it happens to be warm enough to swim has a great pool.

my son was turning 6 the first year we went to the BWV and he is definitly not a clown fan.We ended up with a preferred view room, of course of the pool and we focused him on the slide and he actually got excited and went on it and never paid attention to that giant head again. There is also a quiet pool and game room where he enjoyed playing games and swimming.

I own and usually stay at BWV. However, at age 5, my kids love the Beach Club and Stormalong Bay. Can still walk to Boardwalk and Epcot. And you have Beaches and Cream!
