questions about buying a disney package

i have a couple of questions about how this works. i've read a lot of material over it, but just want to make sure i'm reading it all correctly.

1. the current room-only discount that runs through early-june - is this good for discount on only a room or can you get the discount as part of a package including tickets and dining? what i mean is, can you buy the package and have the room portion of it discounted using this particular discount?

2. the deposit for a package is $200 and i've read that you have until 45 days prior to check-in to pay off the balance. so, is this sort of like a lay-away kind of deal where i can make the reservation, pay the deposit, and then pay on it every so often until it's paid off up until 45 days prior to check-in?

1) The current promotion can be a room only or a room/tickets discount. You can also add dining to the room/ticket discount. If you do the room/tickets you will have a package.

2) Yes, all you need to pay before the 45 day mark is the $200 and you can make payments as you like until that point. At 45 days the package will have to be paid in full. For room only it works a bit differently
