Questions about booking online

Hello everyone. I just wanted to ask about booking a cruise online. We have been on two cruises before and both times we booked over the phone, but from what I hear the waiting times are extremely long lately.

Is there something bad about booking online versus calling them?

Also, is there any way to try and get a dining table for just your family? Both other cruises we made the request when booking over the phone, and they said it was no problem, but when we got there we were seated with other families anyway. I know most tables are for multiple families, but I would love to get one alone with my family, my wife in particular gets anxious when she has to converse with strangers.

Some people need to book by phone to use placeholders/on board bookings.
Some people book by phone because they want a very specific stateroom and the online tools often won't show you every available stateroom.

If you are not using an OBB, or are not hyper specific about wanting that ONE stateroom on deck 4, online works fine.

A table to yourselves is always a request without guarantee.

I wait until closer to my sailing date to request a private table. Usually a month or two out. If you can avoid the chaos of the phone lines for now, go for it!

Unless I'm using a placeholder, I always book online. In the past, I called for the private table, but with phone waits being so insane, this time I emailed. They got back to me with the usual... this is a request, blah blah, but it is noted.
